What are the Key Deliverables in this role?


Financial Outcomes



  • Cost Savings Initiatives: Assisting in Developing and implementing cost-saving initiatives to reduce expenditure on indirect goods and services. This could involve negotiating better prices with suppliers, optimizing contract terms, and identifying alternative sourcing options.

  • Deliver measurable cost savings through strategic sourcing, commercial negotiation, and supplier consolidation; target and manage large-value deals (including engagements > INR 10 Cr).

  • Optimize total cost of ownership by applying spend analysis, market benchmarking, ROI evaluations, and subscription/renewal optimization for software and cloud services.

  • Control budgets and forecasts by developing cost-reduction plans, managing cost escalations, and supporting financial planning for Technology and Digital categories.

  • Improve contract economics through co‑terming, consolidation, renegotiations, and commercial terms that reduce leakage and improve payment governance.

  • Lead end‑to‑end contracting and supplier management for MSAs, SOWs, SaaS, cloud, managed services, and professional services, overseeing the full contract lifecycle—renewals, amendments, co‑terming, consolidation and governance—to maximize commercial value and minimize risk.

  •  Define and negotiate commercial, legal, IPR, security, compliance, and risk‑mitigation clauses, while building strategic supplier relationships, conducting regular performance reviews, and driving continuous improvement through robust KPI and SLA governance.


Customer Service



  • Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivating positive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and satisfactory delivery of goods and services.

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborating with internal departments to understand their needs and requirements for indirect goods and services, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.

  • Timely Delivery: Ensuring that purchased items are delivered in a timely manner to meet internal customer demands and operational timelines.

  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identifying and addressing any issues or concerns raised by internal customers regarding procurement processes, orders, or deliveries.

  • Problem-solving: Proactively addressing any challenges or obstacles that may impact customer service delivery in indirect procurement and implementing solutions to mitigate these issues effectively.

  • Enable business outcomes by partnering proactively with Technology, Digital, Security, Finance, Legal, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into fit‑for‑purpose commercial models.

  • Deliver stakeholder-ready communication: provide executive‑grade updates, risk assessments, and recommendations that enable timely decision‑making.

  • Ensure supplier performance and SLAs through structured KPI governance, regular performance reviews, and rapid issue resolution to maintain service continuity.

  • Support internal customers on renewals and transitions to minimize disruption for subscription-based and managed services.


Internal Processes



  • Establishing and maintaining standardized documentation for procurement processes.

  • Strengthen procurement governance by enforcing policy compliance, audit readiness, invoice governance, and contract compliance tracking.

  • Drive process digitization and efficiency by implementing sourcing tools, automating workflows, and closing audit findings.

  • Managing procurement data and analytics for informed decision-making.

  • Continuously monitoring and optimizing internal processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.


Innovation and Learning



  • Introduce sourcing innovations such as outcome‑based commercial models, consumption optimization, and creative licensing strategies for SaaS and cloud.

  • Staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in procurement.

  • Continuously seeking opportunities to adapt and evolve procurement practices in response to changing business needs and market dynamics.

  • Pilot new supplier models and value‑added services that accelerate digital transformation while protecting commercial and security interests.


 



 


What are the Critical success factors for the Role?



  • Relevant experience: Minimum 8+ years in procurement/sourcing/contracting/category management with at least 5 years focused on Technology Procurement (Software, SaaS, Cloud, Infrastructure, Managed Services).

  • Proven negotiator: Demonstrated track record negotiating complex, large‑value technology contracts (MSA, SOW, SaaS, Cloud) and managing deals exceeding INR 10 Cr.

  • Category expertise: Deep knowledge of software licensing, subscription models, cloud economics (AWS/Azure), IT infrastructure, and professional services procurement.

  • Commercial and analytical acumen: Strong spend analysis, TCO/ROI evaluation, benchmarking, and ability to convert analysis into commercial decisions.

  • Risk and governance orientation: Ability to identify and mitigate commercial, operational, financial, security, and IP risks; ensure procurement compliance and audit readiness.

  • Stakeholder influence: Strong partnership skills with Technology, Legal, Finance, Security, and business leaders; able to present executive‑grade recommendations.

  • Contract lifecycle mastery: Hands‑on experience managing renewals, amendments, co‑terming, supplier governance, and SLA/KPI frameworks.


What are the Desirable success factors for the Role?



  • Good teamwork, multi-tasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.

  • Experience with Tier‑1 suppliers (Microsoft, AWS, SAP, Salesforce, Adobe, Oracle, Blue Yonder) and familiarity with their commercial and licensing models.

  • Exposure to niche skill procurement (SAP consulting, specialized technology services) and vendor consolidation programs.

  • Familiarity with procurement systems (eProcurement, CLM, SAP/ERP) and cloud cost management/FinOps tools.

  • Experience leading cross‑functional sourcing projects, driving digitization, and mentoring procurement teams.

  • Spend Analysis, ROI Evaluation & Market Benchmarking

  • Strong communication and negotiation presence with the ability to manage multiple complex sourcing projects simultaneously.

  • Understanding of security, IPR, and compliance clauses relevant to software, SaaS, and cloud contracts.
