Summary /Purpose of the role 

• Create sustainable supply chain and focus on QCD. Including ESG.


• Procurement activity of Steel and Foundry Raw Material Category.


• Responsible for execution of entire procurement cycle for purchasing of Foundry raw material and Steel raw material (demand planning, RFQ's, negotiations, comparison, order decisions and communication) as per KBL Specification.


• Timely conversion of SAP PR to INFO process.


• Maintain system health and hygiene in ERP system like category and subcategory structure, lead time etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Execution of entire procurement cycle (demand planning, RFQ's, negotiations, comparison, order decisions and communication)


• Have knowledge of raw material required for operation of Iron and Steel foundry along with finished raw material like bars and plates.


• Ability to read and understand commodity market, online index platform and local market price movement.


• Create and maintain category transparency by adhering procurement guideline and polices.


• Execute supplier strategy – identify supplier capacity, supplier relationship management and supplier de-risking


• Make award decisions with category manager.


• Actively implement cross-plant sourcing strategy.


• Implement saving levers to achieve organizational goals.


• Participate in VA/VE & systematic cost reduction exercises.


• Support project purchasing/NPD team in getting best price and potential vendor.


• Support other category for identification of best source and price for Raw Material requirement.


• Sub-Category strategy incl. preferred supplier set, volume planning, supplier capacity development, supplier relationship management, capacity de-risking, awarding roadmap & strategy etc.


• Achievement of agreed savings targets in line with Annual operating plan.


• Monitoring of plant delivery/OTIF and supplier quality.
