Job Description - Deputy Manager - Fire & Safety

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor fire safety policies and procedures in line with statutory requirements.

Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification related to fire and safety across project sites.

Ensure compliance with local fire safety regulations, standards, and guidelines.

Plan and conduct fire drills, safety training, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.

Inspect and ensure proper maintenance of fire protection systems (fire alarms, extinguishers, sprinkler systems, hydrants, etc.).

Lead investigations of fire incidents and near-miss cases, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Coordinate with external agencies such as fire departments, safety auditors, and regulatory authorities.

Supervise and guide site safety officers and fire safety teams.

Maintain proper documentation, reports, and compliance records related to fire safety.

Support project teams in ensuring safe work practices and emergency preparedness plans.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Fire & Safety / Industrial Safety

Diploma / Certification in Fire & Safety (Mandatory)

Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in fire and safety management
- Experience in construction, real estate, infrastructure, or industrial projects preferred

Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of fire safety systems and safety regulations
- Good understanding of risk assessment and emergency response planning
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and training skills
