Job Description - Deputy Manager - Logistics

Responsible
for inward and outward logistics of all parts and outward logistics of
equipment. Reduce the cost of logistics by optimizing packing and reducing the
number of vehicles for the particular project. Clear the transportation bills
based on contracts available from the indirect procurement team of sourcing.

1. Scope of work starts from receipt of logistics
requirement from Planning until delivery of items at warehouse/customer site as
per schedule without any damages/defects

2. Ensure both inward and outward logistics of
items are managed end -to -end and as per schedule, without damages/defects

3. Reduce cost/expenses by optimizing number of
vehicles, packing appropriately or utilizing multiple modes of transport

4. Where adequate number of suppliers are not
available, inform Sourcing so that new suppliers and contracts can be made

5. Choose from pre -qualified logistics suppliers on
the basis of cost as well as delivery times

Clear invoices pertaining to logistics after
conducting due diligence on time

Requirements

Graduate
in any discipline. Preferably postgraduate degree or certification in supply chain
management, with 9 -12
years of experience, of which at least 5 in managing logistics of heavy
equipment.
