About the Role
Cyient DLM is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager – Strategic Sourcing (Electronics) to lead strategic sourcing initiatives for electronic components supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and high -reliability production programs across the Semiconductor, Industrial, Aerospace & Defence, and Medical sectors.
The role is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, cost optimization, component lifecycle management, localization, and supply continuity. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of the global semiconductor supply chain, electronic component sourcing, and supplier ecosystems, along with experience working in a fast -paced High Mix–Low Volume (HMLV) manufacturing environment.
You will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Manufacturing, Planning, and global suppliers to ensure uninterrupted material availability while achieving cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for electronic components aligned with business objectives.
- Source electronic components from approved manufacturers, authorized distributors, and qualified suppliers worldwide.
- Manage supplier RFQs, commercial negotiations, pricing agreements, and long -term supply contracts.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with global suppliers to ensure supply continuity and competitive commercial terms.
- Support sourcing requirements for New Product Introduction (NPI) and ongoing production programs.
Commercial & Supplier Management
- Lead supplier commercial negotiations covering pricing, lead times, payment terms, and delivery commitments.
- Evaluate supplier performance and drive continuous improvements in Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service (QCDS).
- Coordinate supplier qualification, audits, approvals, and PPAP/FAI activities in collaboration with Supplier Quality and Engineering teams.
Component Lifecycle Management
- Manage electronic component lifecycle activities, including:
- End -of -Life (EOL)
- Last Time Buy (LTB)
- Product Change Notifications (PCN)
- Obsolescence risk management
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify alternate components and second sources in coordination with Engineering and Quality.
- Develop sourcing strategies to mitigate component shortages and long lead -time risks.
Cost Optimization & Localization
- Drive BOM cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing, value engineering, and commercial negotiations.
- Lead localization programs to improve cost competitiveness, reduce lead times, and strengthen supply chain resilience.
- Conduct cost benchmarking and market analysis to identify savings opportunities.
Supply Chain Risk Management
- Monitor global semiconductor market trends, lead times, shortages, geopolitical risks, and commodity pricing.
- Develop proactive sourcing strategies to minimize supply disruptions.
- Support production shortages, customer escalations, and critical sourcing requirements.
Technical & Compliance Support
- Validate supplier quotations against:
- Manufacturer Part Numbers (MPN)
- Datasheets
- Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)
- Standard Pack Quantity (SPQ)
- Lead Time (LT)
- Ensure sourced components comply with customer specifications and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with RoHS, REACH, IEC, UL, CE, and other applicable customer and industry standards.
ERP & Data Management
- Maintain accurate supplier information, pricing, lead times, and component master data in SAP/ERP systems.
- Support planning and procurement by ensuring data accuracy for BOMs, sourcing records, and material masters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.
- MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management within Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), Semiconductor, Industrial Automation, Electrical Equipment, or High -Reliability Manufacturing.
- Proven experience supporting global semiconductor or industrial customers.
- Experience working in High Mix–Low Volume (HMLV) manufacturing environments with aggressive cost and delivery targets.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of the global semiconductor supply chain, including major semiconductor manufacturers, authorized distributors, and global sourcing strategies.

- Strong technical knowledge of:

- Good understanding of global supplier networks and geographical distribution of manufacturers and distributors across Asia, Europe, and North America.
- Experience in electronic component lifecycle management (EOL, LTB, PCN, and Obsolescence).
- Strong commercial negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.
- Knowledge of BOM analysis, should -costing, and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE).
- Familiarity with supplier qualification, PPAP, FAI, and quality management systems.
- Good understanding of IEC, UL, CE, RoHS, REACH, and other applicable international electrical and environmental standards.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of semiconductor market dynamics, allocation management, and long lead -time commodity planning.
- Experience working with global OEMs and Tier -1 EMS customers.
- Exposure to localization programs and supplier development initiatives.
