Design Engineer

Entry Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s/Master’s/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

 - 3 to 8 years of design experience in the oil and gas industry or other design engineering companies, preferably in design heavy machinery.

- Working knowledge in CAD packages like Pro/E, UG

- Should have working knowledge of database software like TCE, Intralink.

- Ability to read, interpret and prepare applicable technical information & suggest design/process changes to ensure simple, functional and cost effective results.

- Should have knowledge of Complete Product Development Cycle including tasks like concept generation, classical calculation, detailed engineering & testing.

 *Primary focus on design of mechanical equipment

 Job Description:  

- Creates basic designs, drawings, DBIs, specifications, etc., following application of basic scientific / engineering principles & specific procedures.

-  Using CAD and database systems, facilitates to make layouts, analyze designs, evaluate equipment systems and generate new equipment design.

- Consults with other department on equipment design, problems and questions. Identifies root cause of technical problems and proposes solutions

- Tests and evaluates products to determine design limits and needed improvements. Prepares test reports and closure reports on engineering project assignment.

- Prepare reports, correspondence, procedures, specifications and technical calculations.

- Assists and checks the work of drafters, designers, and less experienced engineers.

- May assist in cost estimates. May participates in product and process standardization projects.
