About the role

Job Summary
The Design Engineer is responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of plant buildings and machinery. This includes establishing standards for pollution control, testing, and maintenance, and recommending new equipment and systems.
This job profile is intended for early-career professionals who apply broad theoretical knowledge and require the ability to investigate and analyze problems. Solutions are typically discussed/verified with a more senior member.

Purpose of the job

To produce 3D models and 2D detailed drawings of hydraulic and other pump components based on scanned data and/or legacy 2D drawings.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• 3D Modeling & Drafting (Siemens NX)
  • Digitizing hydraulic components (Impellers, Volute Casing) from 2D legacy drawings and creates central files, 3D waterways and hydraulic drawings.
  • Creation of 3D waterways and hydraulic drawings from given central files using SULZER in-house tools.
  • Surface modelling.
  • Must be comfortable modelling complex waterway / hydraulic surfaces.
• Using imported data to create models. .iges or .stl scan data will be used to create the models
• Drafting in NX. Must be comfortable with:
  • Adhering to Sulzer drawing standards for all drawings
  • Producing casting drawings that will show a pre-machined part (placeholder casting models, extracted bodies in 3D model tree etc)

• Teamcenter / SAP
  • Uploading and promoting drawings / models
  • Revising and updating drawings / models
  • Create equipment BOMs in SAP

Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required

• Batchelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Relevant experience within related industry including knowledge of industry practices & standards.
• Expertise in Design and drafting using Siemens NX
• Good English skills (written and verbal)
