We believe that solving public challenges requires more than technology and policy — it demands human-centered design. As the Design Thinking Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how governments, citizens, and frontline workers interact with systems, ensuring that solutions are intuitive, inclusive, and scalable.

Your first major initiative will focus on transforming sanitation services through the Manhole to Machinehole (M2M) project, an effort aimed at eliminating unsafe manual scavenging by promoting fully mechanized desludging across Indian cities. Through thoughtful design, you will help make sanitation safer, more efficient, and equitable for all.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply human-centered and systemic design principles to products, programs, and service delivery models.
• Design innovative public system and service solutions that address complex social challenges.
• Facilitate co-creation workshops and training sessions with governments, NGOs, citizens, and frontline workers.
• Develop visual design tools such as journey maps, process flows, and ecosystem diagrams to communicate insights and solutions effectively.
• Create and implement training modules for urban local bodies (ULBs), NGOs, and sanitation workers.
• Champion the integration of design thinking into public service delivery and transformation initiatives.

Requirements:

• 7–12 years of experience in service design, systems design, or human-centered design.
• Proven ability to simplify complex problems into clear, user-friendly solutions.
• Skilled in facilitation, co-creation, and tools such as Figma, Miro, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience designing for public systems, civic technology, or social impact initiatives is essential.
