Reporting into: Senior Designer - Interior & Exterior

Level: M2

Purpose of the Role

This position exists in order to perform Benchmarking of competitor vehicle and report preparation. Concept and detail Design of trim parts such as Dashboard, Console, Pillar Trim, Roofline, Wall trim, Carpet and seating system, Bumper, Front panel, Mirror, and Wind deflector using 3D CAD software such as CATIA and ProE.  Doing CAD checkin in PDM and study part interface, Coordination with interface aggregate and VI for issue resolution. Doing VDFA (Virtual design verification assembly) and VDFS (Virtual Design for Service)  verification with ME and Aftermarket and resolve issues in design. Giving boundary conditions to CAE and transferring CAE observations in design. Drawing generation and checking into PLM for release as per the project plan. RTS discussion with a supplier, buyer, and SQA (Supply Quality Assurance) and signoff in PLM. DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis)  and DVP (Design verification Plan) preparation and discussion with CFT members.  Support Photoshop and testing for Cabin build and validation. Failure analysis and resolution through corrective action.

Project Initiation  Phase

Support in benchmarking activity. Collect data for report preparation and Prepare feature-wise comparison and select best for our concept. Maintaining and updating benchmark documentation and storage of data in a central location.

Product Concept design and Detail Engineering

Various Concept designs for the interface, locating and mounting of Interior and exterior parts. Detailing of part joinery, locator and mounting detail and updation of A surface ensuring part thickening. Data check-in activities for VI and VDFA. Ensuring updated data check-in into the system. Documentation of feature-based concept selection with QDCF details for CSG and CG audit. Ensure part design meet DFM, DFA and DFS and CAE requirement. Create Detail drawing and ensure drawing quality as per the check sheet. Support in RTS, DFA, DFM discussion and closer of all open points. DFMEA documentation and timely update of document-based upon every event. Part DVP documentation and discussion with suppliers and SQA. In order to ensure the detailed design of the product as per the VECV guideline.

Verification Stage (Virtual, Physical Build, and Validation)

All VI issue closer and VI approval, Boundry condition to CAE for Verification. Interpretation of Moldflow result and improving the part design. Ensure BOM at every release stage, Provide support to Photoshop and VDC for fitment trial and testing. Analysis of Build NCR and Closure of design issues. Failure part update in Validation vehicle. In order to follow the design norms of the VECV guideline.

Support to Legacy Project, QAG Issues

Design and drawing release for Class II project such as future enhancement, Regulatory requirement. Support to the line and QAG issue and timely release of ECO. Analysis of  Line issue, Field issue related to design and prepare RCA and CAPA along with CFT. In order to avoid field failure and line support to the existing products.
