Overview
The DesignerQuantity Surveyor plays a crucial role in the construction industrywhere they are responsible for accurately estimating and managingthe costs associated with a construction project. They work closelywith architects engineers and contractors to ensure that projectsare completed within budget and in compliance with all relevantregulations. Keyresponsibilities
- Prepare and analyzecost estimates for constructionprojects
- Collaborate with design teams toensure costeffective solutions
- Conduct sitevisits and surveys to gather data forestimates
- Review and negotiate contracts withvendors and subcontractors
- Monitor projectbudgets and track expenses
- Prepare quantitytakeoffs and bills of quantities
- Assess andvalue change orders and variations
- Utilizesoftware tools for accurate quantitysurveying
- Perform risk analysis and costcontrol throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensurecompliance with building codes andregulations
- Contribute to value engineering andcostsaving strategies
- Communicate effectivelywith stakeholders to provide financialinsights

- Resolve disputesrelated to project costs and claims
- Maintainaccurate documentation and records of all costrelatedactivities
Requiredqualifications
- Bachelors degree inQuantity Surveying Construction Management or relatedfield
- Professional certification from arecognized institution (e.g. RICS AIQSCIOB)
- Proven experience in quantity surveyingand cost estimation in constructionprojects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD BIM or otherrelevant design and modeling software
- Strongknowledge of construction methods materials and buildingregulations
- Excellent numerical and analyticalabilities
- Ability to interpret and understandtechnical drawings andspecifications
- Experience in project managementand scheduling
- Advanced skills in usingspreadsheets and cost estimatingsoftware
- Effective communication andnegotiation skills
