Job Description - DGM - New Product Development (Power Quality)
This role is critical in shaping the future of PQ offerings through platform innovation, design excellence, and cross-functional collaboration within the Global Product Line (GPL) framework.Incumbent will lead the development of new hardware product platforms aligned with GPL strategy and manage all HW function activities including development and quality assurance in support of Global UPS product platform development. Will act as new product hardware platform provider, technical staff resource, new hardware technology sponsor and global sustain resource support. "Provide resource to develop new hardware product platform based on GPL strategy. Allocate and manage resources to build scalable, modular platforms for PQ products. Ensure platforms are designed for efficient customization to meet diverse market and customer requirements. Provide hardware engineering resources to support product customization from the base platform. Collaborate with regional and functional teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet performance, compliance, and customer expectations. Monitor hardware design quality across all development stages, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and best practices. Champion the deployment of DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) methodologies to drive process improvement and design robustness. Identify, evaluate, and introduce emerging technologies relevant to future PQ product lines. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the R&D team. Act as a sponsor and driver of VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) initiatives across functions. Facilitate collaboration between engineering, product management, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to optimize cost, performance, and value. Ensure strong alignment with GPL functions to maximize strategic coherence and operational efficiency. Introduce or develop new technology suitable for future product.. Act as sponsor to push VAVE activity cross functional, mostly in GPL function alignment Handles recruitment, training, and performance reviews of subordinate staff. Lead research on new components technology development and application" Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field; PhD preferred. 15+ years of experience in hardware product development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. "*Technical: Proven expertise in platform-based product development and customization, Strong knowledge of DFSS, VAVE, and product lifecycle management. Leadership: Excellent strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional leadership capabilities. Managerial : Coach, plan, target setting, performance review, Good communication, Strategy thinking,Change management Process: Pro-Launch, DFSS, Skill: DFSS tool implement, Problem resolved, Training, Presentation Language: writing and oral English level " Experience working in a global matrix organization and aligning with GPL strategies. High degree of professional presence and customer interface skills Very adept at influencing to achieve results through others when required Computer Skills - MS Office, MS Project, knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system. "
