About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director – Decarbonisation Advisory to lead and grow our sustainability and carbon strategy practice. This is a strategic leadership role for someone passionate about driving real impact through decarbonisation solutions across industries. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in sustainability, green fuels, carbon markets, and a strong understanding of the policy and technology landscape surrounding green hydrogen and emissions reduction.

This role will lead client engagements, shape decarbonisation strategies, and support the development of innovative, commercially viable sustainability solutions. You will work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to drive the transition toward a low-carbon economy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Advisory & Leadership:
  Lead end-to-end decarbonisation consulting engagements with large corporates, government bodies, and financial institutions, offering strategic guidance on achieving net-zero targets and sustainable operations.
• Strategy Development:
  Design and implement comprehensive decarbonisation roadmaps, incorporating elements such as green hydrogen adoption, energy transition strategies, and integration of green fuels.
• Carbon Market Expertise:
  Advise clients on navigating carbon markets, emissions trading systems (ETS), voluntary and compliance carbon offsets, and carbon accounting practices.
• Green Hydrogen & Fuels:
  Provide technical and commercial insights into the deployment and scaling of green hydrogen and green fuel technologies as part of broader sustainability programs.
• Policy & Regulatory Advisory:
  Stay abreast of national and international climate regulations and support clients in compliance, policy alignment, and leveraging incentives for sustainability.
• Sustainability Innovation:
  Identify and incubate new opportunities in climate tech, nature-based solutions, and circular economy models that support decarbonisation.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including technology providers, government agencies, NGOs, and capital markets.
• Thought Leadership:
  Contribute to market-facing insights, white papers, and industry forums to strengthen the firm’s positioning as a thought leader in sustainability and decarbonisation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience:
  Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in sustainability consulting, energy transition, carbon advisory, or a related decarbonisation-focused role.
• Technical Knowledge:
  Deep understanding of climate science, GHG emissions frameworks (such as GHG Protocol), carbon accounting, and carbon offsetting mechanisms.
• Subject-Matter Expertise:
  Proven experience with green hydrogen, biofuels, e-fuels, and other low-carbon technologies and their commercial viability.
• Carbon Markets:
  Working knowledge of international carbon markets, carbon pricing mechanisms, and standards like VCS, Gold Standard, or CDM.
• Communication & Leadership:
  Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to lead teams and influence senior decision-makers.
• Education:
  A master’s degree in Environmental Science, Energy Systems, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field. MBA or additional sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001, CFA ESG) are a plus.
