About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Operations to lead the day-to-day execution of our packaging material manufacturing business based in Bangalore. This leadership position is ideal for a seasoned operations professional with a strong background in finance and an in-depth understanding of manufacturing ecosystems.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for aligning operations with the company's growth objectives, ensuring excellence in production, financial control, supply chain efficiency, people management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Operational Leadership
Take charge of end-to-end business operations, spanning manufacturing, supply chain, finance, HR, procurement, and general administration.
Drive operational alignment with company strategy and ensure seamless interdepartmental coordination.
🔹 Production & Quality Management
Oversee production planning, plant performance, quality control, and process optimization.
Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
🔹 Financial Oversight
Utilize your financial expertise to manage budgeting, cost analysis, margin improvement, and compliance.
Track and report financial KPIs regularly, partnering closely with the finance team.
🔹 Supply Chain & Procurement
Lead sourcing, vendor negotiations, raw material planning, and logistics.
Optimize inventory and ensure on-time delivery with minimal operational bottlenecks.
🔹 Strategic Execution
Translate company goals into executable operational strategies.
Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and operational scalability.
🔹 People & Culture
Collaborate with HR to manage workforce planning, employee engagement, performance, and compliance.
Build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement on the shop floor and across teams.
🔹 Compliance & Governance
Ensure all plant operations and business functions comply with legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
Maintain proper documentation and ensure audit readiness.
🔹 Reporting & Communication
Deliver regular updates to senior leadership on KPIs, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives.
Act as the key liaison between operations and other executive functions.
Qualifications & Skills
✅ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, or Finance; MBA preferred
✅ 15+ years of total experience with at least 5 years in a senior operations leadership role in manufacturing (packaging preferred)
✅ Strong financial acumen and comfort working with budgets, margins, and performance metrics
✅ Proven success in scaling and optimizing operations in a manufacturing setup
✅ Proficiency with ERP platforms and operations tools
✅ Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership skills
✅ Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
