Director of Quality Engineering - Flash array

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coach multiple engineering managers and senior engineers to drive FlashArray & FlashBlade Quality Engineering
• Partner with FlashArray & FlashBlade engineering leadership to create high-impact ownership across the organization
• Collaborate with Product Management to plan and deliver key initiatives and products
• Address scaling challenges during rapid growth to ensure enterprise readiness
• Own and lead the Enterprise Readiness Quality strategy, balancing short-term and long-term goals
• Drive enterprise-quality, system-level products through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Champion an “Automation First” philosophy across quality engineering practices
• Ensure timely project delivery and improve testing efficiency and effectiveness via strategic plans
• Execute and expand automation strategies to scale across business units
• Challenge the status quo and advance shift-left practices in software development
• Define and implement test strategies for Test-Driven Development at scale
• Balance efficiency and quality improvements with measurable metrics
• Define and refine Engineering Quality metrics for real-time visibility and goal alignment
• Identify growth opportunities and provide resources for skill development
• Maintain clear communication with external stakeholders to align expectations and priorities
  

What You Bring to the Team

• 15+ years in Enterprise Products with at least 8+ years in leadership, including 2+ years of second-level management
• Proven track record delivering Quality Engineering initiatives end-to-end
• Experience managing projects across the full SDLC, delivering on schedule with customer feedback loops
• Experience growing an agile (Scrum) environment with short cycles
• Proven ability to build and grow teams
• Hands-on technical leadership in File System and Storage Ecosystem (Linux kernel storage & drivers)
• Passion for continuous improvement and “building stuff”
• Expertise in developing test strategies and driving enterprise readiness via automation
• Experience building automation frameworks, test automation, and developer tools to boost velocity
• Proficiency with Test-Driven Development integrated with CI/CD pipelines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across system software, networking, security, and applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
