Job Description - District Head - Program Implementation, Pune

Role: District Head - Program Implementation, Pune
Experience: 5+ years
Salary: 8- 11 LPA

Note: Fluency in both Marathi and English (written and spoken) is mandatory

About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and mission-driven professional to lead program implementation in one of our key districts. This role will be responsible for driving high-quality program delivery, building and leading a high-performing team, and strengthening partnerships with government stakeholders, schools, and industry partners.

The ideal candidate will bring strong program management capabilities, stakeholder engagement experience, and a passion for creating meaningful opportunities for young people. This role requires balancing operational excellence with a long-term vision for systems change and sustainable impact.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Implementation & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of career readiness and youth development programs across assigned locations.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of program sessions and activities, resulting in improved participant outcomes.
  • Support facilitators and field teams through regular reviews, coaching, performance tracking, and problem-solving.
  • Ensure timely availability and distribution of program materials across partner institutions.
  • Track program milestones, targets, and delivery metrics through dashboards and monitoring systems.
  • Collaborate with training, operations, and data teams to ensure effective program execution.
  • Identify implementation risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.

2. Government & Stakeholder Partnerships:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government stakeholders across assigned districts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with education departments, local authorities, schools, and ecosystem partners.
  • Organize and facilitate stakeholder consultations, review meetings, and partnership engagements.
  • Support long-term integration of program initiatives within education systems.
  • Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and industry partners to strengthen youth development pathways and opportunities.

3. Communication & Documentation:

  • Develop communication materials, presentations, and updates for various stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of meetings, action plans, decisions, and follow-up activities.
  • Respond to stakeholder queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Capture and share key learnings, success stories, and implementation insights.

4. Planning, Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Develop implementation plans and stakeholder engagement strategies aligned with program goals.
  • Monitor progress against targets and adapt plans based on field realities and emerging needs.
  • Prepare regular reports highlighting progress, challenges, risks, and achievements.
  • Utilize data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.

5. Team Leadership & Culture Building:

  • Recruit, manage, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Support team members through coaching, feedback, and professional development.
  • Promote strong cross-functional collaboration across departments and stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in program implementation, preferably in education, youth development, livelihoods, skilling, or the social impact sector.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams, facilitators, volunteers, or field staff.
  • Prior experience working with government systems, public institutions, or schools is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in Marathi and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong planning, execution, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Pune and Dharashiv districts.
  • Flexibility to work according to stakeholder schedules and field requirements.
