Job Description:

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Summary

Fluence is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to support the design and execution of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This entry‑level role is ideal for engineers with up to 2 years of experience who are eager to build a strong foundation in electrical system design, component selection, and documentation for high‑performance energy storage products.

The selected candidate will work with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams to develop safe, reliable, and compliant designs that meet Fluence’s engineering and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Design Support

• Assist in developing electrical designs for BESS, including support for system layout, wiring, and integration activities.
• Contribute to the preparation of engineering drawings such as, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Wiring diagrams and schematics, General Arrangement drawings.

2. Cable Engineering

• Support cable sizing and cable selection for AC/DC circuits under guidance from senior engineers.
• Prepare cable schedules, routing plans, and simple cable harness documentation.

3. Component Selection & Documentation

• Assist in selecting electrical and control components such as breakers, contactors, protection devices, terminals, and auxiliary components.
• Prepare and maintain Electrical Bills of Materials (BoM).

4. Control System Support

• Support the development of control diagrams and electrical control schematics.
• Work with the controls team to understand system I/O requirements and equipment interface needs.

• Ensure deliverables meet Fluence internal quality and safety requirements.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with mechanical, controls, manufacturing, and testing teams to support successful product development and deployment.
• Participate in documentation updates, and engineering change processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in electrical or power system design (internships/project experience acceptable).
• Basic understanding of AC/DC power systems and electrical components.
• Familiarity with cable sizing, wiring, and electrical protection fundamentals.
• Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools.
• Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn system studies and BESS technology.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Additional Qualifications

• Academic or project exposure to BESS, renewable energy systems, or power conversion systems.
• Awareness of electrical safety practices and standards.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, ETAP, or other electrical analysis tools is a plus.
