Schaeffler is a dynamic global technology company and its success has been a result of its entrepreneurial spirit and long history of private ownership. Does that sound interesting to you? As a partner to all of the major automobile manufacturers, as well as key players in the aerospace and industrial sectors, we offer you many development opportunities.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead Design and develop custom Complex Device Drivers (CDDs) from scratch in Embedded C to handle high-frequency, non-standardized, or tightly timed hardware peripherals where standard AUTOSAR modules requirements.
- Architect low-level microcontroller initialization code (Startup code), interrupt handling routines, custom bootloaders, and memory-mapping schemes (Flash/RAM partitioning).
- Develop and maintain hardware-optimized drivers directly interfacing with advanced microcontroller peripherals including GTM (Generic Timer Module), SPI, ADC, and PWM.
- Configure and deeply customize AUTOSAR MCAL (Microcontroller Abstraction Layer) and BSW layers, resolving deep architectural limitations within the vendor packages.
- Isolate and debug complex hardware-software interaction faults—such as memory protection violations, hardware traps, register corruption, and clock synchronization errors using advanced debugging tools like Lauterbach TRACE32.
- Expertise in Bare-metal (Non-OS) development as well as RTOS/AUTOSAR OS environments, ensuring efficient task scheduling and minimal context-switching overhead.
- Enforce stringent timing and memory constraints, writing highly optimized, deterministic code that strictly adheres to MISRA C guidelines.
- Lead the implementation of functional safety (ISO 26262) mechanisms at the driver level, including the development of hardware diagnostics, core self-tests, and ASIL-D compliant software components.
- Author low-level software architecture documents and micro-architectural specifications using modelling tools or UML frameworks.
- Serve as the technical authority and mentor for junior BSW developers, leading code reviews and driving root-cause analysis for critical, systemic bugs.
- Interface directly with silicon vendors (e.g., Infineon, STMicroelectronics, NXP) to evaluate early-stage microcontrollers, errata sheets, and reference platforms
Your Qualification
- Educational Qualification: Minimum B.E/B. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering or Master’s in Electronics Engineering will be an added advantage
- Experience: Minimum 3 years to 5 years’ experience in Automotive software development.
