General Information

The Software Technical Project Leader (SWTPL) is responsible for end‑to‑end technical ownership and delivery of automotive embedded software projects. The role bridges customer requirements, system architecture, software development, quality, and project execution, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, cost, and quality standards.

The SWTPL works closely with OEM customers, internal cross‑functional teams, and global development centers, while ensuring compliance with automotive standards such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, Cybersecurity, and OEM-specific processes

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Project & Technical Leadership
  • Lead software development projects from RFQ/quotation phase through SOP and post‑SOP support
  • Own technical decision‑making, software concept, and feasibility analysis
  • Define and manage software project scope, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies
  • Act as technical interface between customer, system, hardware, and software teams
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as primary customer interface for software topics
  • Clarify and manage customer requirements, change requests, and technical discussions
  • Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, technical workshops, and audits
  • Align internal teams with OEM expectations, timelines, and quality targets
  • Software Development Oversight
  • Guide software teams working on:
    • Embedded C/C++ development
    • AUTOSAR (Classic / Adaptive)
    • BSP, MCAL, Middleware
    • Diagnostics (UDS), Bootloader, OTA
    • Communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet)
  • Ensure proper software architecture, modularity, reusability, and scalability
  • Support estimation, planning, and resource allocation for software tasks
  • Quality, Process & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • ASPICE (Level 2/3)
    • ISO 26262 (Functional Safety)
    • ISO 21434 (Cybersecurity) where applicable
    • Internal and OEM-specific processes
  • Drive risk analysis, mitigation actions, and issue escalation
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables:
    • Software requirements
    • Architecture & design documents
    • Code, unit tests, integration tests
    • Verification & validation artifacts
  • Planning, Tracking & Reporting
  • Create and maintain:
    • Software project plans
    • Effort estimations and milestones
    • Progress tracking (KPIs, burn‑down, defect metrics)
  • Identify risks and bottlenecks early and take corrective actions
  • Regularly report project status to:
    • Internal management
    • Program management
    • Customers (as required)
Your Qualifications

  • Education
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering disciplines: Electrical, Electronics & Communication, or equivalent.
  • 8–10 years in automotive embedded software, 3–5+ years in technical leadership or project lead roles
  • Experience working directly with OEM customers is highly preferred
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong experience in embedded automotive software development
  • Proficiency in C / C++
  • Deep understanding of:
    • AUTOSAR architecture
    • Automotive ECUs
    • Real‑time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Knowledge of automotive protocols:
    • CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet
    • UDS diagnostics
  • Familiarity with:
    • Software configuration management (Git, SVN)
    • CI/CD tools
    • Static analysis and testing tools
  • Process & Standards
  • Hands‑on experience with:
    • ASPICE
    • ISO 26262 lifecycle
    • Agile / V‑model development
  • Experience in automotive OEM customer projects
  • Leadership & Soft Skills
  • Strong technical leadership and decision‑making ability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work in matrix and global environments
  • Strong problem‑solving and risk management mindset
