Summary

The Specialist, IT Security Solutions will provide solution support or user training on selected in-scope platforms and technologies as well as participate in IT projects in various capacities, including project coordination and management for in-scope IT security solutions. 

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Perform administrative and maintenance support for in-scope solutions and platforms such as Microsoft ADFS, Thales SafeNet, Thales CipherTrust Transparent Encryption and Key Management, Certificate LifeCycle Management (AppviewX)


• Engage with the community to explore opportunities and or alignment for in scope security solutions.


• Gather and document business requirements


• Work with various IT teams to develop and deliver IT solutions


• Respond to system problems by analyzing the issue and determining the next course of action


• Provide system training to end users


• Participate in and lead various IT projects as required

• Good problem solving & analytical skills, with an ability to troubleshoot, improvise and innovate.


• Basic to good coding skills in specified programming languages (ie. Python, Powershell, or Java experience).


• Understanding of interrelations between IT components (software, OS, databases, network, servers, etc.)


• Some experience supporting IT Infrastructure including Networks, Servers, End point Clients in Windows, Linux and Unix based environments.


• Knowledge & experience in relevant technologies and concepts (e.g. Experience supporting Encryption, TLS, PKI, Certificate Management, Key Management, Secrets Management, Privileged Access Management, Networking, DNS, Federated Authencation, Active Directory and Directory Services, etc.) would be an asset


• Previous knowledge or experience with encryption platforms (ie. Thales CipherTrust Encryption, Cloud Based Encryption) would be an asset


• Experience with Identity and Access Management concepts (Provisioning, Deprovisioning, Access Reconciliation) Would be an Asset


• Previous experience with authentication concepts and technologies such as OAuth, SAML, OIDC, MFA, Passkey.  Direct experience with Identity Providers (IdP’s) such as Thales SafeNet, ADFS, Okta, Ping, Entra ID (Formerly Azure Active Directory) would be an asset.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.


• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

• 4 to 6 years; Experience in similar roles
