General Summary:

Qualcomm Platform Software Architecture team falls under the Common Software Engineering organization catering cross business units, platforms, and technologies. This team works closely with the HW counter parts to define, evolve and sustain architectures that enables differentiating features for products at the minimum cost. Harmonization and re-use across products are the key theme.  The team collaborates across various SW and HW teams across the organization to gather requirements, provide architectural proposals and recommendations.

Platform Software Architect – Engineer, Senior Staff/Manager

• Creating, Evolving, Enhancing & Adapting of Software Architectural solutions for Qualcomm products
  • Focus: Platform – Boot, Reset, Debug, , Resource-Management, Workload-partitioning, Memory maps, Infra aspects such as NoC connectivity, Virtualization, Interrupts, timers etc.
• Primary focus on Server products (but not limited to)
• Providing assessment for features/changes by establishing systemic understanding
• Support power, performance, memory or other systemic KPI assessments
• Establish end-to-end data flows, impacts and risks
• Collaborate with multiple cross-functional technology arch and execution teams

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

• 13 to 17+ years of experience in the embedded domain to design, develop and support software solutions on multi-core ARM/CPUs, Strong C/C++ programming skills.
• Embedded Platforms experience including low-level firmware, kernel and user-space components.
• Design and development of software for heterogeneous compute platforms consisting of ARMs, GPUs, DSPs, and specialized hardware accelerators in an embedded SoC systems with J-TAG or ICE debuggers
• Experience in real-time SW development for embedded products.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Server SoC-platform knowledge (Memory Controller, QoS, Buses, Peripherals, Boot, Debug, etc.)
• Hands on experience and/or sound knowledge on compute and server products, use cases, HW & SW work partitioning, end-to-end workflows (HW & SW), power & performance challenges
• SoC Power & Performance management knowledge
• Good SoC security & virtualization exposure
• Good exposure to overall SoC embedded SW (ARM v7/v8/v9 or other server-grade CPU knowledge is additional bonus)
• Experience in designing complex embedded System SW features
• Experience with Linux kernel device driver development, memory management SW
• Solid knowledge on CPU/MMU/Cache/IOMMU architecture & real-time OSes
• Experience with Embedded Software & Firmware development

• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
