Job Description - Engineer Technical Support

What you’ll do:

This role within the EatonCare division is primarily focused on creating Technical Documentation (TD) such as Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals and Submittals for customer orders. The role involves reading technical drawings and understanding the technical aspects of control and distribution components related to low voltage and medium voltage products. Hands-on experience with low voltage electrical products is preferred.    

 

"1.    Create technical manuals for low voltage and medium voltage products, including residential products (load centers, breakers, group metering, and generators), dry type transformers, switching devices (safety switches, rotary switches), molded case breakers (MCCB), miniature breakers (MCB), MCC, PCC, Panelboards, Switchboards, LVA, MVA, AFD, PFC, Surge Protection devices, etc.
2.    Generate user manuals by understanding customer requirements, interpreting electrical drawings and technical specifications.
3.    Apply standard work, error proofing, and application knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
4.    Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams.
5.    Maintain and update internal reference materials.
6.    Use electronic tools and applications to generate customer documentation, primarily Submittals and Operation & Maintenance manuals.
7.    Develop a healthy working relationship with the US team for effective problem resolution and guidance.
8.    Update all process trackers in real-time to provide better insight into the workload.
9.    Provide inputs to product marketing and engineering regarding updates to catalog information, renewal parts information, technical drawings, and other technical documentation found on the website."    
 

Qualifications:

Graduate in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics).
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Switchgear manufacturing/Erection & Commissioning/Maintenance
 

Skills:

"Understanding of Electrical products and systems.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and customer specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), BidManager, Enovia, Vista, SharePoint, etc.
Familiarity with CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD, FreeCAD, and Fusion 360°
Good understanding of markets (OEM, customers, and competitors) and how low voltage electrical products serve those markets.
Preferred: Hands-on experience with low voltage electrical products."
