At Eaton India Innovation Center, Electrical Sector Americas is looking for the Engineering Director - Protection, Control \u0026 Solutions Group. \n\n## Job Summary:\n\nAt Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC), Electrical Sector Americas is looking for Engineering Director to lead Protection, Control \u0026 Solutions (PCS) group. PCS includes Power Components, Bussmann, Industrial controls and regional businesses like Latin Americas and Canada (circuit breakers, fuses, switches, contactors, VFD, soft starters, relays, meters, enclosed assemblies etc). This leader will partner with Electrical Sector Americas Leader and Global VP Engineering to expand overall PCS portfolio in EIIC and globally in terms of capabilities and value proposition.\n\nThis role will lead complete portfolio for PCS including NTI, NPI, cost out, sustaining and software cutting across products. The leader will provide strategic direction across functional value streams like firmware, electronics hardware, electromechanical design.\n\nPCS products are multidisplinary in nature and have a wide range of technology applied for development including mechanical, electrical, circuit protection, industrial controls \u0026 assemblies, electronics and software. Hence this leader would need to have a multidisplinary experience and also work closely with EIIC digital leader to bring more digitalization into the product lines. PCS leader will also work with all global engineering leaders and business leaders for PCS to understand customer VOC and strategies, roadmap globally and lead that for PCS group.\n\nWe are looking for motivated professionals with strong skills in technical leadership along with excellent communication and collaboration skills. Critical to the success of this role is the candidate\u2019s ability to understand the products and services of Eaton. Ability to translate business requirements into practical application, ensuring that concepts get fully executed into product offerings that achieve a defined business outcome. The leader is expected to champion people-process-technology verticals to enhance value add from PCS EIIC.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n * Lead and develop capabilities for a team of 150+ engineers for New Product Developments, New Technology Introduction, VAVE, sustaining and application engineering projects.\n * Deliver projects on time (Gates, Launches, xRL maturity, cost out and application engg targets) while promoting culture of CI and automation to improve OTD and FPY. \n * Shape Focus areas and build portfolio that matters. Define clear road map for next 3 - 5 years and execute action items to mitigate identified gaps. Leverage EIIC ecosystem for prototype and validation to accelerate time to market.\n * Build culture of innovation through planned events, participating in brain storming, identify opportunities for filling disclosures and execute division goals for IP\n * Build Organization Capabilities \u2013 Hire and develop talents to lead \u0026 grow portfolio, nurture global roles like project lead, program manager, product owner etc.\n * Develop depth and breadth of capabilities in product engineering in electromechanical, firmware, electronics design, software, industrialization as well as adjacent technology areas from Centers of Excellence (for e.g Modelling and Simulation, Reliability, Cybersecurity, functional safety)\n * Drive more digital content in our products to make them connected \u0026 intelligent to extract higher value for customer and possible ways to generate digital revenue for the division\n * Manages department budget and performance to forecast\n * Drive continuous improvement initiatives for higher quality and productivity including but not limited to Design For Six Sigma, Agile development, MBD. CCPM, Mentor and Coach DfX Green belt certifications for EIIC engineering community\n * Provide Technical mentoring and guidance, clear obstacles, drive decisions, identify critical dependencies and risks; develop mitigation plans - including leveraging external resources, drive collaboration and resolution between functions.\n * Develop best in class organization leading functional excellence\n * Effectively communicate plans, risks, status of deliverables to teams, management and stakeholders\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\n * B.E. / B Tech / M Tech,/PHD in mechanical/electrical/electronics\n * 20+ Years of experience with leadership experience in multidisciplinary product development and launch\n * Proven track record of launching and managing multidisciplinary product development\n * Good understanding of circuit protection technologies including mechanisms, arcing/ switching capabilities, protection and control (e.g. algorithmic, trip units), sensing (e.g. voltage, current, AC and DC), Power Electronics (HW and control mechanisms) solid state or hybrid solutions.\n * Understanding of industrial controls products\n * Understanding of thermal management, Design to cost\n * Knowledge of Design for Automation and manufacturing technologies\n * Understanding of codes and standards (IEC and IEEE)\n * Understanding of technology trend and competitive landscape, industry knowledge\n * Knowledge of Strategic suppliers and Partnerships\n * Knowledge of Application and System level testing\n * Knowledge of Wireless communication - BLE Mesh and WiFi, various communication protocols\n * Integration in Enclosures and Switchgear\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n * Possesses a broad strategic vision of the company\u2019s future products and services.\n * Should have the following skills.\n * Proven people leadership with experience in leading large teams.\n * Process Management\n * Innovation Leadership\n * Influencing across levels in the organization\n * Leading Technology Investigation \u0026 Technology Adoption\n * Excellent written \u0026 verbal Communication\n * Mentoring and coaching skills.\n * Managing Vision and Purpose\n * Requirements and Traceability\n * Customer Centricity\n * Drive Solutions Cost management\n * Ability to define Quality and Customer KPIs\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for job applicants and employees.
