We are looking for an Engineering Manager – Full Stack Development with strong backend expertise to lead and mentor a team of engineers building scalable, high-performance products. The ideal candidate is hands-on with backend technologies (Node.js preferred; Java, Python, or Go are also acceptable) while also having a solid understanding of frontend frameworks. 

This role involves driving technical excellence, architecting robust systems, ensuring code quality, and fostering a high-performance engineering culture. You’ll be a key driver in shaping the platform architecture and ensuring delivery of innovative, reliable, and efficient solutions at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Guide architecture and design discussions for scalable backend systems, APIs, and multi-tenant microservices.
• Full-Stack Architecture: Establish and manage the complete architecture, ensuring smooth integration between backend services and frontend frameworks.
• Scalability & Multi-Tenancy: Develop systems that support millions of concurrent users across multiple tenants, maintaining high availability and low latency.
• Cloud & Infrastructure as Code: Implement cloud-native, automated, and resilient infrastructure using tools such as Terraform and container orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-On Development: Actively contribute to the backend codebase as needed (Node.js/Java/Python/Go), establish coding best practices, and review important pull requests.
• People Management: Lead and mentor a team of 8–12 engineers by conducting performance evaluations, offering career guidance, and recruiting top talent.
• Agile Delivery: Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and manage delivery schedules in collaboration with Product Managers.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, QA, DevOps, and Design—to ensure high-quality release delivery.
• Innovation: Keep up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement cutting-edge engineering practices.

Background and Experience

• Over 8 years of experience in software development, including at least 2–3 years in leadership or managerial roles.
• Strong expertise in backend development with Node.js (preferred), Java, Python, or Go.
• Demonstrated experience designing and scaling distributed systems, multi-tenant architectures, and microservices.
• Comprehensive understanding of full-stack architecture, covering frontend frameworks (React/Angular/Vue) and backend integration.
• Proficient with databases (both SQL and NoSQL), caching solutions (Redis, Memcached), and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Strong skills in problem-solving, system design, and software architecture.
• Proven track record of leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.

Good to Have

• Experience building large-scale, high-traffic consumer-facing applications.
• Exposure to real-time data streaming, WebSockets, or GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures such as AWS Lambda or GCP Cloud Functions.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch.
• Previous experience in sports-tech, gaming, or fan engagement platforms.
