Engineering Manager - Backend Development

Required Skills : Excellent Communication, Problem Solving Skill, Data structures and algorithms, Excellent coding in either Python or JAVA, RESTful API development and optimization Client type : social media app, looking candidates from early stage startups only, ctc upto 65lpaRoles and Responsibilities :- Provide strong technical leadership, push the technical bar for scalability and quality, and maintain data and results-driven culture.- Drive long-term architecture and development for highly scalable services with quality, performance, and maintainability as core tenets.- Drive Collaboration across teams to deliver high-quality solutions from concept to release and live operations.- Mentor the professional development of each direct report through personal and performance management.- Be responsible for the group's technical strategy and roadmap - creating success metrics in close collaboration with other groups across the organization, and executing initiatives in an agile way.- Initiate cross-functional (Product, Business, Operations) collaborations with development teams throughout Lokal and gather feedback and requirements.- Ability to attract and hire top-notch Engineering talent for the organization.Required Qualifications :- Total 8+ years' experience developing and shipping software products with 5+ years of experience in very large-scale applications and 2+ years' experience in people management.- Hands-on manager with proficiency in various engineering tools, software, and methodologies, and be able to apply them to solve real-world problems.- Strong problem-solving skills, data structures, and algorithms.- Experience with distributed systems handling large amounts of data.- Excellent coding skills in one of the languages Python/Java.- Experienced in building distributed cloud systems (AWS, GCP, CI/CD, Kubernetes), RESTful API development, and optimization ( life cycle management).- Very good understanding of Web Technologies, Databases and Data pipelines.Good to have :- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Have worked at a product company- Have a working knowledge of a backend and frontend programming languages- Excellent technical design, problem-solving, and debugging skills, proven track record in shipping software on time, with high-quality- Proven track record in leading development teams and the ability to grow talented SDEs- Great team player and communicator, a strong believer in collaboration and teamwork- Experience and success in working with ambiguity and taking risks- Candidate should have worked on large scale applications with million of users. - Should be preferred from a product based company- Candidate should have good stability and should be from Bangalore only (ref:hirist.tech)
