Job Description - Engineering Manager - Hardware Controls

We are looking forward for engineering manager to lead and shape RDE portfolio for Embedded hardware team as part of Embedded Controls of ES EMEA. Engineering manager will be responsible for Implementing strategies focus around hardware development and V&V Embedded Products of Life Safety, Energy Solutions and Power Management & Control Components divisions. Build and leverage synergies between various product lines as well as participate in the Digital strategies for the product lines. An Engineering Manager be accountable for the NPI / NTI / Sustenance projects. Build Organization Capabilities - Hire and development plans for the talents. Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and Technologies with specific foucus on making them intelligenet & smart. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define strategic roadmap for building strong breakers team and RDE portfolio on key productlines - Manages diverse product teams from multiple locations. Provides leadership for the team to meet its short and long-term goals. Define clear plan to leverage EIIC Lab and Prototype infrastructure to accelerate launches of key NPI/NTI programs for division. - Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and services. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define roadmaps & drive Innovation / technology roadmap for Embedded products of EMEA team. - Lead innovation events to shape ideas from the team. - Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in Embedded and Software design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering - Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for Firmware and Software Engineers and related COE team at EIIC to develop innovative Technology. - Indiviaul should have understanding of electrical, electronics and mechanical designs for Programamble Logic Controller (PLC), Life Safety (LS), Contactors and Medium Voltage Power Distribution (MVPD) to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability. - Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across groups. Manages department budget and performance to forecast. - Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments. - Develop and control the schedule and direct the work to effectively manage time. - Monitor progress & achievements on projects. Provide regular reports on development & support activities. - Manage and develop people: identify, attract and develop key engineering talent for the organization. BE/ME in Electronics, E&TC Engineering 15+ years of design experience with Embedded systems Min 5+ years of experience in coaching & mentoring people -Experience leading a team through all stages of the product development cycle -Hands on experience in product development leveraging DfX methodology -Engineering technical expertise to solve problems and make design recommendations -Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in electro-mechanical design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering -Sound Analysis Mindset and drive DP maturity to enhance NPI efficacy -Sound knowledge of best practices in software engineering methodologies, processes, and technologies with a passion for programming Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with design processes, program management skills, knowledge of customer strategies, successful new product introduction experience, creative/innovative thinking Act as a technical mentor and expert tech reviewer in domain Review and approve design proposals based on requirements /statement of work and present to stakeholders/customers Act as a technical mentor and expert tech reviewer in domain. Manage and develop talent: identifies, attracts and develop key engineering talent for the organization. Drive employee survey action plans to attain high level of employee engagement & managerial effectiveness. Drive culture of innovation with focus on new patent disclosures and high-impact ideas
