This role partners closely with Finance (FP\u0026A), Accounting, Business Unit leaders, and IT to deliver scalable, governed, high-performing planning solutions using TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics or modern EPM tools such as OneStream, Anaplan, and Hyperion Essbase. The ideal candidate combines deep financial modeling expertise with strong EPM platform knowledge, data integration experience, and stakeholder management skills to deliver reliable planning outcomes with measurable business impact. \n \nKey Responsibilities \nEnterprise Planning Model Strategy \u0026 Delivery : \nOwn end-to-end delivery of planning models including Actuals, Forecast, Budget, LRP, and what-if / scenario simulations across P\u0026L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, CapEx, Headcount, Opex, Revenue, and cost allocations. \nDefine and maintain the planning model architecture (dimensions, hierarchies, versioning, calendars, drivers, measures, metadata strategy). \nLead model build activities: calculations, rules/scripts, driver-based planning, allocations, intercompany logic, and rolling forecast methods. \nDrive standardization and reusability of model components (common dimensions, reference data, shared business rules). \n \nBusiness Partnership (FP\u0026A / Accounting / BU Finance): \nTranslate finance and business requirements into scalable EPM solutions; act as a trusted partner to FP\u0026A leaders and finance stakeholders. \nFacilitate design workshops to define driver trees, planning assumptions, scenario levers, and reporting outputs. \nEnsure alignment with accounting close, actuals loads, and reconciliation processes (actuals vs plan vs forecast variance). \n \nData Integration, Automation \u0026 Controls: \nOwn integration of data between EPM tool(s) and upstream/downstream systems (ERP/GL, Data Warehouse/Lake, BI). \nOversee ETL/ELT processes, scheduling, automation, and monitoring for data loads (actuals, master data, rates, assumptions). \nImplement strong reconciliation and auditability: balancing checks, variance thresholds, data validation rules, and end-user signoffs. \n \nPerformance, Scalability \u0026 Reliability: \nOptimize model performance (calculation efficiency, cube design, aggregation strategy, partitioning, indexing, caching). \nMaintain high system availability during planning cycles; manage release schedules and deployment procedures. \nEstablish monitoring, issue triage, and root-cause analysis for production incidents and user issues. \n \nGovernance, Security \u0026 Compliance: \nEstablish governance for metadata changes, model changes, roles/access controls, workflow, approvals, and audit trails. \nManage SDLC best practices: environments (prod, non-prod), version control, testing, deployment, and documentation. \nDefine and enforce standards for model documentation, naming conventions, and change management. \n \nReporting, Analytics \u0026 End-User Enablement: \nDeliver dashboards and outputs for management reporting, variance analysis, and executive review packages. \nPartner with BI tools (Power BI/Tableau/Databricks AI-BI) and reporting modules to publish trusted KPIs. \nTrain end users and power users; create runbooks, guides, and enablement sessions during planning cycles. \n \nTeam Leadership \u0026 Stakeholder Management: \nLead and mentor EPM developers/analysts/modelers \nDrive cross-functional alignment across IT, Finance, Accounting, and business teams. \nCommunicate status, risks, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders; manage roadmap and prioritization.\n\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline. \n14+ years of hands-on experience in FP\u0026A systems / EPM / financial modeling / planning solutions. \n5+ years managing projects and/or leading teams \nExperience in leading the Enterprise Planning transformation to modern planning solutions \nHands-on experience building planning models in TM1/IBM Planning Analytics and/or OneStream / Anaplan / Hyperion Essbase. \nStrong understanding of financial statements and planning processes: P\u0026L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, headcount planning, allocations. \nExperience with data integrations: ERP (SAP/Oracle), data warehouse/lake, ETL tools, APIs, flat files, scheduling. \nStrong analytical skills, structured problem-solving, and stakeholder communication. \nAccountability and Ownership of the delivery in driving the projects to completion \nAbility to work independently and collaborate with business and cross functional teams\n\nPrior experience establishing an EPM COE (Center of Excellence) or leading enterprise planning transformations. \nExposure to planning workflow / approvals / task management (OneStream workflows, Anaplan processes, TM1 processes, Hyperion Planning workflows). \nExperience with scripting/rules: TM1 rules/ti processes, Essbase calc scripts / MaxL, OneStream business rules, Anaplan formulas / actions / integrations \nKnowledge of master data management (MDM), dimensional modeling, and data quality frameworks. \nCertifications: IBM Planning Analytics, OneStream, Anaplan, Oracle Hyperion/EPM\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 6+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor\u0027s degree. \nOR \n8+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor\u2019s degree. \n \n\u2022 2+ years of experience leading projects/programs.\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
