Job Summary

Provides in-depth and long-term compliance support to key customers.  Candidates must have exceptional communication skills and the ability to succinctly understand and deliver to customer requirements.  Must have extensive knowledge of global environmental compliance regulations such as EU RoHS, REACH, California Prop 65, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, etc.  Ensures adherence to regulatory and customer requirements.

Principal Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure customer environmental compliance requirements are met with consistent high quality and within business Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

• Interface directly with customers to obtain and document their environmental compliance requirements

• Work with internal data collection specialists to ensure the prompt and accurate collection of environmental compliance data such as EU RoHS, REACH, California Prop 65, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, etc. from suppliers

• Professionally address customer questions, suggestions, and changing requirements

• Instill a culture of continuous improvement for the benefit of customers

• Lead project reviews with customers and internal stakeholders providing status updates, highlights, challenges, and solutions to issues

• Work with various Avnet departments to resolve data or service issues that are negatively affecting customers

• Participate as a subject matter expert in key customer projects involving product environmental compliance data

• Research and fully understand new and changing environmental compliance regulations

• Identify new service opportunities with existing customers

• May provide subject matter expertise or consultation to other internal organizations or customers for some specific areas of Environmental Compliance services.

• Ability to work across geographical & cultural boundaries

• Experience in data management and governance including the management of processes, systems and tools

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Direct working experience with suppliers and customers

• Demonstrated ability to work hands-on in a fast paced, complex environment

• Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in area of discipline. Competent in all job functions and has thorough understanding of the industry practices, techniques and standards.

• May refer to policies, practices and precedents for guidance; determines best course of action to achieve results

• Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. May receive some limited guidance for new assignments. Work may be reviewed for overall adequacy.

• Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization.

Work Experience:

Typically 7+ years

Education and Certification(s):

Bachelor degree or Master degree in electrical engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or similar area of study
