Assistant Officer Maintenance is responsible For Plant Machineries Health and Safety. Ensure Plan and Execution of Preventive Maintenance to keep the Equipment up and running with effective spare management. Oversee the Plant people safety and Ensure achieve Plant Utility KPI.

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

Financial Outcomes

• Achieve targeted OEE, machine uptime.


• Asset efficiency, optimized wastages


• Drive process improvements


• Optimized spares and maintenance cost

Customer Service

• Achieve targeted OTIF and agreed service levels with customers.


• Reduction in customer/consumer complaints


• Engineering support for timely roll out of NPD projects 

Internal Processes

• Manage overall Plant maintenance in line with safety procedure.                 


• Ensure Preventive maintenance is scheduled and executed for all line and Equipment /Machine.         


• Ensure spares are maintained and ordered as per the requirement.


• Responsible for Plant Utility KPI (Water, Power and Fuel) achievement.       


• Ensure smooth operation of Plant by ensuring Weekly/Fortnightly /monthly preventive maintenance executed to avoid unplanned break down and production loss.    


• Ensure Scales /pressure gauge calibrated as per Legal metrology legal norms.          


• Ensure smooth operation Utility RO Plant, Air Compressor, Cooling tower and Nitrogen Plant.


• Ensure Root cause analysis done for Equipment failure.            


• Daily tracking and analysis of Plant down time and ensure action plan implemented to reduce the down time.


• Ensure Plant R&M Cost is within budgeted figure.


• To Support in Project activities of the plant.

Innovation and Learning

• Review Safety, Health, Hygiene, and other Food Safety compliances for the unit.


• Lead projects Mainly on NPD, packaging changes & Value based reengineering, technology upgradation etc.


• Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.


• Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates.


• Confirms product performance against targets / expectations.


• Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements. Prepares project status reports.

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

• 3 + years of work experience as a Maintenance officer /Executive preferably in Food manufacturing Industry 


• Sound knowledge of Utility KPI (KPIs)            


• Hands on experience with Utility machine/Equipment maintenance        


• Excellent communication skills (both Written and Oral)            


• Strong knowledge on TPM and Root cause analysis  


• Effective multitasking ability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 

What are the Desirable success factors for the Role?

• Knowledge of Food industry (Biscuits / Muesli / Extrusion process/Vffs /PFS Packing machine /Utility Air compressor/RO /Nitrogen plant /Cooling tower/Boiler )


• Good communication skills (English / Hindi / Kannada)


• Proven experience in a managerial role heading Engineering and Engineering projects within a factory.


• Good in Manpower Management Skills


• Strong management skills.
