Expert Database Administrator(Azure DBA)

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and optimize large-scale SQL Server environments (2016–2022)


• Design and manage Always On Availability Groups, replication, log shipping, and failover clusters


• Perform query optimization, index tuning, and execution plan analysis


• Implement backup/restore strategies, disaster recovery planning, and HA configurations


• Automate routine maintenance using PowerShell, T-SQL, or Azure Automation


• Migrate and manage databases on Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL on Azure VMs


• Monitor performance using SQL Server DMVs, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics


• Ensure security, compliance, and audit controls (RBAC, TDE, auditing)


• Collaborate with application teams to review data models, stored procedures, and performance baselines


• Support DevOps with CI/CD pipelines for database deployments

Skills & Experience Required:

✅ Technical Expertise:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server administration


• Deep understanding of T-SQL, query tuning, and execution plans


• Proven experience in managing HA/DR environments (Always On, replication)


• Experience with Azure Data Services:




• Azure SQL DB / MI


• Azure Data Factory (basic integration)


• Azure Monitor / Log Analytics




• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform is a plus)


• Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation


• Must be willing to work in any shifts

✅ Tools & Monitoring:

• SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)


• Redgate / SolarWinds / SentryOne


• Azure Portal, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, SQL Insights

🛡️ Certifications (Preferred):

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300)


• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)


• MCSA: SQL Server (legacy)

🤝 Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset


• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills


• Ability to mentor junior DBAs and work across distributed teams
