Position: L2 Security Engineer
Primary Expertise: F5 Web Application Firewall (WAF) & Radware DDoS Protection
Preferred Technologies: Palo Alto, Cisco, or Fortinet Firewalls
Experience Required: 4-6 years in Network Security/Cybersecurity (Minimum 2+ years hands-on with F5 WAF/Radware DDoS)
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced L2 Security Engineer with hands-on expertise in F5 Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Radware DDoS Protection solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day monitoring, administration, troubleshooting, policy management, and operational support of enterprise web application security infrastructure.
Candidates with additional experience in Palo Alto, Cisco, or Fortinet Firewalls will have a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Security Infrastructure & Operations
Monitor, manage, and support F5 WAF and Radware DDoS security infrastructure.
Monitor WAF and DDoS alerts, analyze web traffic, and respond to security events.
Configure, maintain, and optimize WAF security policies, signatures, and protection profiles.
Support the onboarding of web applications into the WAF environment.
Perform WAF policy tuning to minimize false positives while maintaining robust security.
Monitor and mitigate DDoS attacks using Radware protection solutions.
Troubleshoot WAF, DDoS, and application connectivity issues.
Support SSL certificate installation, renewal, and management.
Coordinate with application, network, and server teams for rapid issue resolution.
Generate operational, security, and compliance reports.
Perform routine health checks, monitoring, and maintenance of security platforms.
Escalate complex technical issues to L3 teams whenever required.
2. Security Incident Management
Monitor web application security incidents and suspicious activities.
Perform log analysis and event correlation for security investigations.
Support SOC teams during incident handling and remediation.
Ensure WAF and DDoS security policies comply with organizational standards.
Assist in maintaining security documentation and operational records.
3. Platform Support & Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot F5 WAF policies, application access, and traffic flow issues.
Monitor Radware DDoS appliance health and mitigation activities.
Support software upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance.
Monitor system health, storage, performance, and availability.
Perform backup and restoration activities as needed.
Required Skills & Competencies
Core Technologies: Hands-on experience with F5 Web Application Firewall (WAF/ASM) and Radware DDoS Protection solutions.
Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of the OWASP Top 10 and core web application security concepts.
Policy Management: Experience in WAF policy creation, rule tuning, and signature management.
Networking & Protocols: Good knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, DNS, TCP/IP, Load Balancing, and general networking fundamentals.
Troubleshooting: Proven experience troubleshooting web application security and connectivity issues.
OS Fundamentals: Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and incident-handling skills.

F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA)
F5 WAF/ASM Certification
Radware Certified Professional (Preferred)
Good to Have
Experience with SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel).
Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Understanding of security compliance frameworks and audit requirements.
