Description:

As we scale towards adding global customers, we need a sharp, detail-oriented finance professional who wants to grow into a key leadership role at a space startup. We’re looking for a Finance Associate to own our day-to-day finance operations while building the muscle to support fundraising, intercompany compliance, and government contracting.

This role sits at the intersection of bookkeeping, compliance, and financial planning. It is perfect for someone with 1 to 3 years of experience who wants to accelerate into a broader startup finance career. As the first finance hire, you’ll work closely with the business teams and consultants to keep PierSight financially sharp, investor-ready, and compliant across India and the US.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Finance Operations & Bookkeeping (~30% of your time)

· Maintain accurate financial records and automate tools for vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and contractor payments.

· Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure clean GL entries.

· Support payroll runs, including collating inputs (salaries, interns, contractors).

2. Compliance Support (~20% of your time)

· Prepare documentation for GST, TDS, ROC, RBI (FLA filing) in India.

· Coordinate with consultants for US filings.

· Keep compliance calendar updated and track deadlines.

· Organize statutory registers, board resolutions, and meeting minutes.

3. Financial Planning, Fundraising & Reporting (~20% of your time)

· Assist CFO with monthly MIS reports (P n L, Balance Sheet, cash flow).

· Update and maintain short-term cash flow forecasts.

· Support budgeting and variance analysis.

· Help in preparing data packs, financial models for investors, board decks, and fundraising.

4. Special Projects, Automation & Growth (~30% of your time)

· Assist in building intercompany agreements, transfer pricing documentation, revenue contracts.

· Conduct market studies to help founders take financial decisions.

· Automate the company’s processes to remove bottlenecks and streamline operations using AI.

· Research and apply for all incentives/grants and exemptions available to PierSight.

Candidate Profile

Must-haves:

· Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/commerce (CA, CMA, MBA(Fin) a plus).

· 1–3 years’ experience in Finance, VC, Accounting, or Audit (startup or Big 4 preferred)

· Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, comfortable with financial modelling basics.

· Understanding of GST, TDS, basic corporate compliance.

· Meticulous approach to everything, never misses a number.

· Interest in the space sector and SaaS business models.

· Must know the difference between LEO, MEO and GEO.

Good-to-haves:

· Experience with cross-border compliance (US/India entities).

· Prior involvement in investor reporting, due diligence, or startup audits.
