Finance Controllership- Lead

We are looking for a Finance - Controllership Lead to build and run the finance backbone of Ozi. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in high-growth, zero-to-one environments and wants to own the entire controllership, compliance, and governance charter for a venture-backed quick commerce startup. You will partner closely with the leadership to ensure financial hygiene, scalability, and investor readiness. 

Key Responsibilities 

● Controllership & Accounting 

○ Establish end-to-end accounting processes (GL, AR/AP, reconciliations, closing) 

○ Build robust internal controls, cost centers, and reporting frameworks ○ Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards, GST, TDS, and other statutory filings 

● Financial Planning & Governance
○ Manage monthly closings, MIS, and board/investor reporting 

○ Track and report key business metrics (e.g., margins, CM1/CM2, burn, runway, unit economics) 

● Cash & Vendor Management 

○ Build cash flow models, working capital projections, and treasury management practices 

○ Create vendor payout, commission, and reconciliation processes (SOR/OR/commission structures) 

○ Handle payment gateways, COD/UPI reconciliations, and RTO accounting

● Operational Finance Partnering 

○ Partner with category, ops, and warehouse teams to ensure PO, GRN, QC, and RTV flows align with financial processes 

○ Monitor stock turns, inventory valuation, and shrinkage controls

○ Implement ERP/OMS integrations for finance visibility 

Who We’re Looking For 

● Experience: 5-7 years in finance controllership / accounting / FP&A, ideally in consumer, ecommerce, or q-comm startups 

● Skills: Strong grasp of IndAS, taxation, reconciliations, MIS, investor reporting. Hands-on with ERP/ Tally/ QuickBooks; comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets

● Mindset: Hustler + controller - someone who can set up processes from scratch yet roll up their sleeves to reconcile COD accounts 

● Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent preferred
