Job Description:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and timely delivery of financial and compliance reporting for Baker Tilly One India in accordance with local regulations and global policies and standards.
  • Prepare and review accounting schedules and reports, ensuring unique accounting transactions are accurately recorded and appropriately presented for internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of non-financial statement regulatory filings, including GST, TDS, income tax, and other statutory compliance requirements.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close activities by reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during the annual statutory audit and assist in responding to audit requests and regulatory inquiries.
  • Monitor GST, TDS, and income tax calculations and payments, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and timely submission of returns.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of automation, standardization, and operational efficiency initiatives across accounting and reporting processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Chartered Accountant, MBA Finance; emphasis in accounting, business, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience in a complex organization required; including demonstrated experience with technical local India regulations and taxes; experience in public accounting or professional services environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Candidates with Workday experience preferred. 
  • A proven track record of successfully executing positive change and delivering operational excellence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex issues and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with proven ability to prioritize while simultaneously manage numerous projects and processes, often under tight deadlines.
  • Executive presence with diplomacy, good judgment, and ability to develop relationships, build rapport, and effectively interface with all levels including stakeholders, clients, and vendors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to connect the dots with business realities, Possesses honesty, integrity, strong work ethic, and multi-functional collaboration skills. Proven ability to meet deadlines in high-paced work environment, Excited by and open to new ideas and new ways of doing things
