Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

Emergent builds autonomous coding agents that replace traditional software development by generating, testing, and deploying production applications directly from plain-language intent. Our systems run in production at global scale and are used to build millions of real applications.

We're solving the hard part of AI-driven software creation: correctness, reliability, security, and scale in real production systems. The team is built by repeat founders, Olympiad medalists, IIT & IIM alumni, and leaders from Google, Amazon, and Dropbox.

The Role:
We're hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) for the Wingman team, with a backend engineering background and experience building and deploying AI agents. Your key responsibility is developing and deploying numerous AI agents for the Wingman team, working closely with customers and turning real-world challenges into scalable solutions.

• Level: Senior (4+ years experience) — SDE2/SDE3/Senior SDE profile, startup background preferred


• Location: Bangalore (Work From Office, 5 days/week)


• Headcount: 3


• Target start: 30 October 2026

What You'll Do:

• Develop and deploy numerous AI agents for the Wingman team


• Work directly with customers to understand technical and business challenges and turn them into scalable solutions


• Own projects end-to-end, from requirements to deployment and iteration


• Debug complex issues across applications, integrations, APIs, and workflows

What We're Looking For:

• Strong backend engineering background


• Proven experience building and deploying AI agents in production


• Startup background strongly preferred


• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently in ambiguous situations

Interview Process:

• 2 technical rounds


• 1 managerial round


• 1 consultant round
