We are building a GenAI-native platform designed to power operations and compliance automation for India’s BFSI ecosystem. As the Founding VP – Engineering & AI Platforms, you will serve as the primary technology leader, shaping the technical foundation of a high-growth, seed-stage venture.
This is a founding leadership role requiring equal parts strategic vision and hands-on execution. You will architect secure, enterprise-grade systems, design AI-driven workflows for regulated environments, and build the engineering organization from the ground up. Working closely with founders, early customers, and product leaders, you will transform complex regulatory and operational challenges into scalable, intelligent solutions.
The ideal candidate combines startup agility with deep backend expertise, strong system design capability, and practical experience building B2B platforms in compliance-heavy industries.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Vision & Architecture
Define the long-term technical strategy and scalable platform architecture.
Design secure, resilient backend systems tailored for regulated financial institutions.
Establish architectural standards ensuring scalability, reliability, and extensibility.
Drive infrastructure decisions across cloud, APIs, databases, and distributed services.
AI-Driven Product Development
Lead development of AI-first products leveraging Generative AI and automation frameworks.
Design intelligent workflows that enhance compliance, risk monitoring, and operational efficiency.
Ensure responsible AI deployment aligned with governance and regulatory expectations.
Translate evolving AI capabilities into commercially viable enterprise solutions.
Engineering Leadership & Execution
Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team in a fast-scaling environment.
Define best practices across software development lifecycle, DevOps, CI/CD, and observability.
Maintain high standards for code quality, documentation, and system security.
Balance strategic oversight with direct technical contribution during early growth phases.
Security, Compliance & Governance
Architect systems aligned with BFSI regulatory and audit requirements.
Implement strong data governance, encryption, and privacy frameworks.
Ensure platform readiness for enterprise security reviews and compliance audits.
Oversee risk mitigation strategies across infrastructure and application layers.
Cross-Functional & Client Collaboration
Partner closely with product and business teams to translate market needs into scalable solutions.
Engage with enterprise customers to understand integration, data, and compliance constraints.
Align technical roadmaps with company growth objectives and investor milestones.
Drive execution with clear priorities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
Experience & Background
Prior experience in early-stage or venture-backed startup environments.
Strong exposure to B2B enterprise product development.
Experience building technology solutions in regulated sectors (FinTech/BFSI preferred).
Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams.
Technical Expertise
Deep backend engineering experience with strong system design fundamentals.
Expertise across distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and scalable architectures.
Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts; exposure to Generative AI preferred.
Experience designing secure, enterprise-grade systems with compliance considerations.
Leadership & Mindset
