We are Sisco Jobs, a recruitment consultancy based in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. We are hiring on behalf of our client for the position of Freight Forwarder in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic and international freight shipments.
  
• Prepare and verify shipping and customs documentation.
  
• Liaise with carriers, shipping lines, transport providers, and clients.
  
• Track shipment status and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
  
• Negotiate freight rates and transportation terms with vendors.
  
• Resolve shipment delays, documentation issues, and logistics challenges.
  
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company procedures.
  
• Maintain accurate shipment records and freight reports.
  

Required Skills

1. Logistics Management – Ability to coordinate freight operations efficiently.
   
2. International Shipping Knowledge – Understanding of import/export procedures.
   
3. Documentation Accuracy – Expertise in shipping and customs paperwork.
   
4. Negotiation Skills – Ability to secure competitive freight rates.
   
5. Freight Software & MS Office – Proficiency in logistics systems and reporting tools.
   

Preferred Skills

• Customs clearance knowledge.
  
• Vendor and carrier relationship management.
  
• Supply chain coordination experience.
  

Work Experience Requirements

Candidates should possess experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping coordination, or supply chain operations. Experience handling international shipments, documentation, and carrier coordination is preferred. Typical experience range for this role is 2–5 years in freight forwarding or logistics operations.

Education

• Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
  
• Preferred: Postgraduate qualification in Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
  
• Additional: Certifications in Freight Forwarding, Export -Import Management, or Supply Chain Operations.
