Job purpose
The role of a Washcoat Operator FTC is to complete a washcoat process operation according to standard operating procedures. Responsible for operating in a safe, productive, and high-quality manner. These duties include producing washcoat in line with batching instructions & specifications. Additionally, they are expected to actively participate in problem solving activities to help the team meet its goals
Principal accountabilities
- Safety:
- Always adheres to safety standards
- Identifies opportunities to improve safety
- Quality:
- To carry out standard operations effectively in a safe manner to a high-quality standard.
- Checks quality of work according to JM (Johnson Matthey) and customer specifications.
- Carry out investigations on quality issues with appropriate technical support.
- Delivery:
- Accountable for following standard processes to complete tasks.
- Escalates issues to ensure a timely resolution.
- Identifies and escalates opportunities for improvement.
- Cost:
- Supports JMPS implementation, as part of this using lean tools such a problem solving and 5S.
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and the implementation of best practice principles, to enhance performance and operations.
- Has accountability for the control of materials issued to their allocated washcoat areas accounting for raw materials and heels and washings, in the required time limit. Initiate full investigation into any variances and communication of outcomes through 5 why or other root causing tools.
