GDE/AD - SAP Authorization Specialist (M/F/D)

Responsibilities
•    Design, implement, and operate compliant SAP authorization roles and user access to support BASF’s digital transformation 
•    Ensure secure and compliant platform operations through accurate authorization design and issue resolution 
•    Govern and steer authorization delivery by suppliers, including request fulfillment, escalation management, and SLA compliance 
•    Develop, enhance, and maintain SAP authorization concepts, guidelines, and security requirements 
•    Monitor existing authorization setups, define critical access objects, and perform authorization clean ups based on security assessments 
•    Optimize efficiency and performance through cost effective solutions, continuous improvement, and use of AI enabled capabilities 
•    Apply certified SAP add on products to ensure a compliant and robust authorization environment 
•    Independently manage tasks across multiple interfaces with strong international and cross organizational coordination 
•    Act as Lead Consultant for SAP Authorizations in projects, influencing solution design and delivery 
•    Communicate and negotiate complex or sensitive topics with diverse stakeholders, building commitment and alignment 
•    Contribute as a team player by sharing knowledge, best practices, and supporting collaborative problem solving 
•    Identify and drive innovative solutions by taking a holistic perspective in a complex work environment 
•    Resolve topics with a focus on operational excellence, balancing efficiency, risk, and implementation complexity
•    Contribute significantly to customer, operational, project, and service objectives within the product scope 
•    Ensure stable and secure operation of BASF’s global SAP landscape, including on call support when required
•    Support internal and external audits through analysis, reporting, and continuous quality improvements

Requirements
•    Completed university degree in Business IT, Business Economics, Information Science, Engineering, or Natural Science, with at least 4 years of professional experience in SAP security and SAP authorization  in both operations and projects
•    Very good conflict ability and awareness
•    Very good command of written and spoken English, in addition to the respective native language
•    Strong technical expertise in SAP authorization and user management, basic platform programming languages & debugging
•    Experience in supplier management and steering, agile ways of working (Agile Methodology, Growth Mindset, Continuous Learning, Customer Focus, User Stories, Metrics, Collaborative Development, Azure DevOps)
•    Solid knowledge in service management processes and ServiceNow platform usage
•    Excellent problem-solving skills (creativity, detail orientation)
•    Strong self-management (time management, adaptability)
•    Ability to manage additional responsibilities outside of own scope and to communicate/present complex topics to diverse audiences.
•    Excellent knowledge in setting up and managing SAP authorizations for SAP R/3 and S/4 systems as well as BTP, BDC, HANA and Fiori, including solid SAP development knowledge
