Job Description - GET - AMU Campus Placement

As a Service Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) at INGSOL, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of advanced manufacturing machinery. This role is critical in ensuring optimal machine performance, minimizing downtime, and delivering high -quality technical support to clients. The position requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, hands -on field experience, and the ability to work independently at customer sites in India and abroad.

1. Machine Installation & Commissioning - Perform installation, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of German manufacturing machinery at customer locations.
2. Field Service Management - Plan, coordinate, and execute on -site service visits, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and timely communication with clients in India and overseas.
3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting - Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive and breakdown maintenance, and ensure minimal machine downtime.
4. Performance Optimization - Identify opportunities for performance improvement and implement necessary mechanical, electrical, or parameter adjustments to enhance machine efficiency and reliability.
5. Industrial Automation Support - Apply basic knowledge of industrial automation systems (PLCs, sensors, drives, etc.) to support troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
6. Tool & Safety Compliance - Use service tools, instruments, and equipment safely and effectively, ensuring strict adherence to safety guidelines and protocols.
7. Client Interaction & Support - Maintain professional communication with clients to understand requirements, resolve technical issues, and provide operational guidance and training when required.
8. Documentation & Reporting - Prepare service reports, maintenance records, and feedback documents after service visits and ensure proper documentation is maintained.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications -
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
2. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
3. Basic knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
4. Willingness to travel extensively (India & Abroad).
5. Good communication and client -handling skills.
6. Ability to work independently/with team in field conditions.

What you know as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.
Mechanical Knowledge
1. Basic mechanical components knowledge. (bearings, shafts, couplings, belts, gears, fasteners)
2. Assembly & disassembly basic understanding.
3. Machine alignment & lubrication basics.
4. Reading of basic mechanical drawings.
5. Preventive maintenance concept.
Electrical Knowledge
1. Electrical basics (AC/DC, voltage, current) & Control panel basics.
2. Sensors (proximity, limit switch, photo sensor) & Motors (single phase / three phase – basic idea)
3. Reading basic electrical wiring diagrams.
4. Basic working concepts of PLC -controlled machinery
5. Why production pressure must be managed, not blindly followed.
Industrial Automation (IIoT)
1. PLC and its basic logic concept
2. Basic understanding of HMI
3. Awareness of Drives / VFDs
4. Knowledge of input–output signals (DI / DO)
Tools & Safety Knowledge
1. Use of common service tools (spanner, allen key, screwdriver, tester, torque wrench – basic)
2. Importance of PPE (helmet, gloves, safety shoes).
3. Electrical & mechanical safety rules.
4. Safety check before machine start.
