The Global Service Expert, Compute Platforms is responsible for the operational excellence, and continuous improvement of services deployed On-prem and public cloud environments (Azure, AWS). This role oversees compute and Kubernetes-based platforms such as cloud‑managed Kubernetes (AKS, EKS) and hybrid enterprise container platforms, ensuring they are secure, scalable, reliable, and cost‑efficient. The person acts as the primary contact, bridging cloud engineering, platform engineering, cybersecurity, operations teams, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud-native platform capabilities that accelerate digital transformation.

The Service Expert is responsible for the operational excellence, and continuous improvement of services deployed On-prem and public cloud environments (Azure, AWS). This role oversees compute and Kubernetes-based platforms such as cloud‑managed Kubernetes (AKS, EKS) and hybrid enterprise container platforms, ensuring they are secure, scalable, reliable, and cost‑efficient. The person acts as the primary contact, bridging cloud engineering, platform engineering, cybersecurity, operations teams, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud-native platform capabilities that accelerate digital transformation.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Operate Compute & Container platform.
  • Own the lifecycle of compute and container services deployed on public cloud (AWS and Azure,) and hybrid environments and maintain a unified operational model.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and autoscaling capabilities in cloud-managed container clusters.
  • Act as the main service contact for application teams, architects, and business units.
  • Conduct regular service reviews, publish SLAs/SLOs/OKRs, and ensure continuous service improvements.
  • Participate in platform governance, including technical reviews and platform lifecycle management.
  • Over-see the operational health, management, security, lifecycle, and reliability.
  • Responsible for the 24x7 operational oversight and direction to both external technical and engineering teams.
  • Accountable for managing suppliers in ensuring they deliver quality services and meet all contractual obligations. Tracks actual utilization of services and reporting of supplier performance in meeting business service expectations and service levels.
  • Support and ensure compliance to defined IT Governance controls, standards, and practices.
  • Ensure best-in-class support for compute & container platform technologies across the company not only in the IT infrastructure area, but also providing services and solutions to all application teams onboarding and leveraging these technologies.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • University degree (Computer Science or comparable education preferred)
  • Fluent English written and spoken
  • 10+ years of experience in both on-prem and cloud deployment of compute and containers.
  • Good Linux system administration skills (RHEL-based environments)
  • Prior exposure to Vanilla Kubernetes (e.g., Helm, Cilium, Containerd, Nginx, MetalLB).
  • Experience in Service Management or Engineering of a global service portfolio in similar areas as above, across geographies and business areas.
  • Track record in delivering on time, quality and budget. Experience in negotiating agreements with corporate suppliers in close co-operation with the sourcing function.
