Overview / Responsibilities





Wood PLC, Applied Intelligence team is currently recruiting for a Digital Integration Graduate to join the Intelligent Operations business based in Chennai. We are looking at recent graduates or those with 2+ years’ experience. This career opportunity reports to the Operations Manager and is offered on a permanent staff basis. Our goal is “Transforming complex and dynamic data into actionable intelligence by combining domain knowledge with digital technologies”.
This role has come about due to continued success and organisational growth and team expansion. Our ideal candidate will have a keen interest in artificial intelligence, software development and engineering, holding a degree in engineering or computer science.   • Work with large amounts of unstructured and structured data, and transform it into a more understandable format
  • Identify trends and patterns in data that may improve a business’s profitability
  • Build fit-for-purpose predictive models and implement machine learning techniques to support existing and new customer products and services.
  • Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design
  • Identify opportunities for innovation within projects and organizations where advanced analytics could dramatically improve operations. Pro-actively drive this innovation to realization and implementation.
  • Partner with multiple cross-functional teams across Wood’s international engineering operations to deliver data analytics solutions.
  • Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology.





Qualifications





Skills/Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree or PhD in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or a related data centric field.
  • Have basic technical and Data Science expertise
  • Fluency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, R)
  • Software development or DevOps experience desirable however not essential
  • Broad experience with designing and developing applications using the Microsoft .NET or python development platform
  • Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and design patterns
  • Experience with design and development of User Interfaces (UI)
  • Experience of using cloud services such as azure cognitive services or similar
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across functional groups as required
  • Basic knowledge of network configuration including routing, DNS, and firewalls
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple disciplines
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills
  • Client focused with solid communication and relationship building skills
  • Hands on, organised, proactive and self-disciplined
  • Knowledge of distributed applications frameworks such as DCOM, .NET Remoting, IIS, Web API (REST), and WCF
  • Experience of using visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Grafana etc.
  • Experience of integration application with 3rd party simulation or modelling software solutions
  • Experience with container technology such as Docker
  • Experience using software deployment technologies such as Azure DevOps, Click Once, InstallShield
  • Strong User Interface design and development skills
  • Knowledge of software security best practices
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server or equivalent database technology
  • Knowledge of control and automation engineering
  • Knowledge of OPC and instrumentation
  • Engineering knowledge and background with an emphasis on Oil and Gas concepts.
  • Engineering knowledge and background with an emphasis on supply chain or logistics.
  • Experience working with large and complex data sets
  • Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modelling skills
  • Experience in data visualization and implementing effective models/algorithms into a live solution is required.
  • Experience working with data and features derived from engineering/industrial sources is an advantage.
  • Experience of text mining techniques and related solutions is an advantage.
