We’re growing our design team and looking for a Graphic Designer focused on illustration to craft visual stories across our product, website, docs, marketing campaigns, and community.

What you’ll do

• Product & Docs

  • Create in-product illustrations, empty states, onboarding visuals, and UX micro-illustrations.

  • Design clear technical diagrams and data flows (e.g., OpenTelemetry pipelines, architecture overviews).

  • Produce polished screenshots and visual examples for docs and tutorials.

• Brand & Marketing

  • Own campaign visuals for launch weeks, product releases, and webinars.

  • Design blog headers, social graphics, email banners, landing page art, and lightweight infographics.

  • Contribute to event/booth collateral, swag, and partner co-marketing kits.

• Systems & Craft

  • Build and maintain our illustration system (styles, motifs, palettes, iconography, motion patterns).

  • Manage a tidy asset library (Figma components, SVGs, exports, versioning).

  • Champion accessibility (contrast, legibility, alt text) and brand consistency.

• Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Design, Engineering, DevRel, and Marketing to ship on a predictable cadence.

  • Scope work, estimate effort, and communicate trade-offs clearly.

What makes you a great fit

• 2–6 years of professional design experience with a strong portfolio of illustration + product/marketing work.

• Fluency with Figma and at least one of Illustrator/Photoshop (or any other illustration tool). Comfortable delivering clean SVG assets.

• You can simplify technical concepts (APIs, pipelines, cloud, OSS) into approachable visuals for a developer audience.

• Comfortable working async in a remote, fast-moving, open-source culture.

Nice to have (big plus)

• Developer/DevTools background (you’ve coded before or designed for developer products).

• Experience with motion (After Effects/Lottie) for micro-animations and launch assets.

• Basic HTML/CSS literacy to collaborate with engineers on asset handoff.

• Experience designing for global OSS communities.
