A Guidewire Integration Developer is a specialized software developer responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions that enable seamless communication between Guidewire applications (like PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter) and various external systems. 

Here's a breakdown of the key aspects of a Guidewire Integration Developer role:

1. Job summary

• Designs, develops, and implements integration solutions for Guidewire applications.
• Facilitates communication between Guidewire and external systems (e.g., payment gateways, document management systems, third-party data providers).
• Focuses on ensuring smooth data flow and system functionality. 

2. Key responsibilities

Guidewire Integration Developers design and implement integration components using Gosu, Java, and web services (SOAP/REST). They collaborate with technical and functional teams to deliver solutions across Guidewire applications, utilizing middleware platforms and developing various integration elements like message queues and web services. Key responsibilities also include participating in testing, supporting deployments, creating documentation, and ensuring compliance with data security and privacy. 

3. Technical qualifications

Required technical skills often include strong experience in Gosu and the Guidewire Integration Framework, proficiency in Java and object-oriented design, and knowledge of XML, JSON, and SQL. Experience with web services, Guidewire integration concepts (like batch processing), the Guidewire Data Model, and source control tools is also important. The role requires strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills. 

4. General qualifications

General qualifications include strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Effective time management, creativity, a customer-oriented approach, and attention to detail are also valuable. Adaptability, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. Excellent communication skills and familiarity with Agile methodologies are typically required. 

5. Educational requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is often preferred. 

6. Experience

Typically, 3-6+ years of development experience with at least 3 years in Guidewire integration is expected. Entry-level roles require a basic understanding of Guidewire's architecture, while experienced professionals may advance to leadership or business roles.
