Job Description - Head - Aircraft Integration

1. System Synthesis & Architecture

  • Define and manage the overall aircraft architecture, ensuring that sub-systems (mechanical, electrical, software) work together without interference or performance degradation.

2. Interface Management

  • Oversee the Interface Control Documents (ICDs). The head of AIG is the final arbiter for "space claims" and weight/power allocations between departments.

3. Weight & Balance Leadership

  • Own the mass properties of the aircraft. The Head of AIG will implement recovery plans if the design exceeds weight targets.

4. Certification Liaison:

  • Work closely with the Airworthiness team to ensure the integrated aircraft meets DGCA - VCA regulations.


5. Innovation & Technology
  • Digital Twin & Tools: Lead the implementation of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Mock-Ups (DMU) to catch integration conflicts in the virtual world before they reach the assembly line.

6. Supplier Technical Oversight:

  • Validate that major Tier 1 equipment (engines, landing gear, etc.) integrates seamlessly with the airframe.

7. Integration and sequencing:
  • Liaison with various stakeholders for arriving at optimal sequencing of the part, sub-assembly, assemblies to reach out for seamless and trouble free integration of the parts and LRUs on the aircraft.

8. Testing and fitment:
  • Ensure Pre-installation checks of the LRUs and testing of the components at various levels to deemed fit for fitment on the aircraft and clearance. Trigger testing of required LRUs, components, parts etc at an early stage with the relevant stakeholders.



Requirements

  1. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  1. Experience

  • 10 - 15 years of progressive engineering experience in the aerospace industry.

  • 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles within an Aircraft OEM or Tier-1 aerospace supplier.

  • Strong background in aircraft systems integration and airworthiness certification.

  1. Technical Skills

  • Deep knowledge of aircraft design, development, and certification processes.

  • Expertise in structures, systems engineering, and safety assessments.

  • Familiarity with DO-178, DO-254, ARP4754, ARP4761, and configuration management practices.

  1. Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strong executive leadership and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to balance innovation with regulatory and safety requirements.

  • Strategic thinker with hands-on technical credibility.
