Location: Angamaly, Kerala
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. in Engineering, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Postgraduate qualification in Operations, Supply Chain or Business Management is an advantage.
Experience: 10–15 years in food, flavours, ingredients or FMCG manufacturing with progressive leadership across Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality and Operations.

Purpose of the Role

The Head – Operations will provide end-to-end leadership for Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, Quality, Food Safety, Engineering, Plant Maintenance and Asset Reliability. The role is responsible for developing Bayfield's manufacturing and operations strategy, building scalable systems, leading capital projects, strengthening operational discipline, developing people and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring safe, reliable, cost-effective and customer-focused operations.

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, Engineering, Quality and Food Safety.

·       Develop and execute Bayfield's manufacturing and operations strategy, including capacity planning, automation and future capability.

·       Build scalable manufacturing systems, operational KPIs and management operating rhythms.

·       Drive productivity, yield improvement, OEE, waste reduction and overall cost optimisation.

·       Lead S&OP, production planning, procurement, supplier coordination, logistics and inventory optimisation.

·       Own strategic sourcing coordination to ensure continuity of supply, quality and cost competitiveness.

·       Lead capital projects, plant expansion, commissioning of new equipment and project execution.

·       Develop world-class engineering practices through preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and asset reliability programmes.

·       Strengthen ERP usage, digital reporting and data-driven decision making.

·       Lead Lean, TPM, GMP, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

·       Develop future operations leaders through coaching, mentoring and capability building.

·       Partner with Commercial, R&D and Finance to ensure successful product launches and outstanding customer service.

·       Represent Operations during customer visits, audits, strategic partnerships and operational due diligence.

Preferred Industry Background

Experience in leading food, flavour, ingredient or FMCG manufacturing organisations is preferred. However, candidates with demonstrated operational leadership, strong manufacturing capabilities and a proven ability to build high-performing operations, irrespective of the size of the organisation they have worked with, are equally encouraged to apply.
