Description
As the Head of Reinsurance, you will play a pivotal role in driving the reinsurance agenda, ensuring optimal risk management, and fostering strong relationships with reinsurers. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and executing reinsurance strategies, negotiating terms, and maintaining a robust reinsurance portfolio. This position requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the general insurance sector.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the reinsurance team, providing strategic direction and guidance.
Develop and implement a comprehensive reinsurance strategy aligned with the company's goals.
Negotiate and finalize reinsurance contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
Monitor and analyze reinsurance market trends, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and industry partners.
Conduct regular reviews of the reinsurance portfolio, assessing performance and identifying areas for optimization.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in reinsurance.
Provide reinsurance expertise and support to the underwriting and product development teams.
Stay updated on industry developments and emerging risks, and advise the management accordingly.
Collaborate with other departments to align reinsurance strategies with overall business objectives.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in insurance, finance, or a related field is required, with a preference for a master's degree in a relevant discipline.
A minimum of 15 years of experience in the general insurance industry, with a strong background in reinsurance.
Proven track record of successful reinsurance strategy development and implementation.
Excellent knowledge of reinsurance markets, products, and pricing mechanisms.
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to foster long-term partnerships.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reinsurance portfolio management.
Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor others.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
