The Head of Sales – PMS will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy to accelerate AUM growth, strengthen distribution partnerships, and enhance client engagement across key markets. The role demands strategic thinking, execution excellence, and the ability to lead large, geographically dispersed sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
Develop and implement a robust sales strategy to drive PMS AUM growth across regions.
Set aggressive yet achievable revenue targets and ensure consistent achievement through structured planning and execution.
Identify new market opportunities, client segments, and distribution channels to scale the business.
Drive cross-selling and upselling initiatives within existing client portfolios.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team including Regional Heads, Relationship Managers, and channel sales professionals.
Establish clear KPIs, sales metrics, and performance dashboards to track productivity and results.
Foster a performance-driven culture with strong accountability and incentive alignment.
Conduct regular training and capability-building programs to enhance consultative selling skills.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
Develop strong relationships with HNI/UHNI clients, family offices, wealth managers, and institutional partners.
Lead strategic client meetings and key negotiations to close large mandates.
Ensure superior client experience and long-term relationship retention.
Act as a brand ambassador, representing the organization in industry forums and networking platforms.
Channel & Partnership Development
Expand distribution through IFAs, wealth management firms, private banks, and strategic alliances.
Strengthen partnerships with leading financial institutions and distribution networks.
Drive channel productivity and ensure effective engagement models.
Sales Governance & Compliance
Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines, compliance standards, and internal policies.
Monitor risk frameworks and maintain transparency in sales processes.
Collaborate with product, marketing, and operations teams to streamline execution.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in financial product sales, particularly PMS, mutual funds, AIFs, and wealth management products.
Proven track record of scaling sales teams and delivering substantial AUM growth.
Deep understanding of capital markets, investment products, and client portfolio construction.
Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Strong analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making capabilities.
High emotional intelligence and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Preferred Background
8–20 years of experience in financial services sales, with significant exposure to PMS or wealth management.
Experience managing regional or national sales operations.
Established network within the HNI/UHNI ecosystem.
MBA or relevant financial qualifications preferred.
