Role Overview
The French Language Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging French lessons to school-age learners. The successful candidate will use interactive, student-centred teaching strategies to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while introducing them to French culture, conversation, drama, and real-life communication.
The role requires an enthusiastic educator who can inspire students to use French confidently beyond the classroom and contribute positively to the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging French lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
* Teach French language skills to students across appropriate age groups and proficiency levels.
* Develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities.
* Use interactive, creative, and activity-based teaching methods.
* Incorporate conversation, drama, cultural activities, games, projects, and real-life communication into lessons.
* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
* Assess, monitor, and record student progress regularly.
* Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.
* Prepare teaching resources, classroom activities, assessments, and learning materials.
* Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
* Encourage students to develop confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the French language.
* Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, professional development, and collaborative planning.
* Contribute to the development of language programmes and enrichment initiatives.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
* Native or near-native proficiency in French.
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in French, Education, Languages, or a related field.
* A recognised teaching qualification or relevant teacher-training certification.
* Experience teaching French to school-age learners.
* Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
* A creative, enthusiastic, and student-centred approach to teaching.
* The ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
* Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
* A willingness to relocate to Hyderabad, India.
* International school, IB, Cambridge, or CBSE experience is an advantage.
