HMC Operator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HMC Operator with hands-on experience in operating Horizontal Machining Centers and exposure to Vertical Machining Centers (VMC). The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision components as per engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires strong technical expertise, process understanding, and a commitment to quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate HMC machines for machining components as per job specifications
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process sheets accurately
• Perform tool setting, offset corrections, and machine calibration
• Monitor machining processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and tolerances
• Conduct in-process inspections using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely
• Optimize cycle times and suggest process improvements for increased efficiency
• Maintain proper documentation of production reports and inspection records
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machines
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and workplace standards

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of HMC machine operations and fundamentals of CNC machining
• Working experience with VMC machines is highly preferred
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Hands-on experience with tooling selection, fixtures, and cutting parameters
• Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi
• Ability to perform basic program edits and understand G-code and M-code
• Skilled in precision measurement and inspection techniques
• Problem-solving ability for troubleshooting machining issues
• Understanding of materials such as steel, aluminum, and alloys
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement concepts

Educational Qualification:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Experience Requirements:

• 3 to 12 years of relevant experience in HMC operations in a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience in automotive, aerospace, or heavy engineering industries will be an advantage
