As we grow Digital Nest School of Business and School of Creativity, we’re looking for an HR Generalist who can help us attract talent, strengthen our culture and build effective people processes.

The Role

You will manage day-to-day HR activities across the employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, employee engagement and exits. This is a hands-on role for someone who can work closely with leadership, support employees and ensure timely follow-through

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Manage end-to-end hiring for academic, sales, marketing, placement and support teams.
  
• Work with department heads to define hiring requirements, prepare JDs and assess candidates.
  
• Source candidates, coordinate interviews, manage offers and track joining commitments.
  
• Conduct induction, complete documentation and coordinate probation reviews.
  

HR Operations & Payroll Coordination

• Maintain employee records, HR letters and personnel documentation.
  
• Manage attendance, leave, regularisation and monthly payroll inputs.
  
• Coordinate with Finance on salary changes, incentives, deductions and final settlements.
  
• Maintain and improve HR workflows in Zoho People and related systems.
  
• Coordinate statutory compliance activities with Finance and external consultants.
  

Performance Management & Employee Development

• Help managers define clear goals, KRAs and measurable performance expectations.
  
• Coordinate review cycles, probation confirmations and appraisals.
  
• Track feedback, development plans and performance improvement actions.
  
• Identify training needs and coordinate internal learning initiatives.
  

Employee Relations & Culture

• Serve as an approachable point of contact for employee queries and concerns.
  
• Handle grievances professionally, confidentially and with sound judgment.
  
• Drive meaningful engagement, recognition and employee feedback initiatives.
  
• Support managers in addressing attendance, conduct and team issues consistently.
  
• Communicate HR policies clearly and ensure consistent implementation.
  

Retention, Exits & Reporting

• Identify retention concerns and recommend practical improvements.
  
• Manage resignations, exit interviews, clearance and handover coordination.
  
• Share regular reports on hiring, headcount, attrition, attendance and pending HR actions.
  
• Use employee feedback and HR data to improve people practices.
  

What We’re Looking For

• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
  
• Strong experience in recruitment, HR operations and employee relations.
  
• Working knowledge of payroll inputs and statutory compliance coordination.
  
• Familiarity with Zoho People, Zoho Payroll or similar HR systems.
  
• Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills.
  
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  
• Ownership, attention to detail and confidence in having difficult conversations.
  
• A degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field; an MBA in HR is preferred.
  
• Experience in education, training, edtech or a growing service organisation is an advantage.
